HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERIENCE SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE- Manchester, New Hampshire 2012- present Senior Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer Lead all financial operations for a liberal arts college; oversee the management of the 300-acre physical plant, space, and capital projects; oversee the management of all auxiliary services including dining, catering, bookstore, mail services, ice arena, and events services. Lead the in-house creation of a complex multi-year financial model HARVARD UNIVERSITY- Cambridge, Massachusetts 2006- 2012 Chief Financial Officer/ Associate Dean for Finance & Information Technology Oversee all financial operations for newly established School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Directly supervise the Assistant Dean for Research Administration, the Controller, the Director of Budget and Financial Planning, and the Director of Security, and lead a staff of ~40. Set policies and procedures, hire senior staff, organize the School’s finances. Manage utilization of income from the ~$870M endowment, establish and execute long-range plan to meet the School’s priorities. Oversee the development, execution, and monitoring of a ~$100M budget; including ~$45M in sponsored research. Negotiate complex financial arrangements with entities internal and external to Harvard. Meet with donors and provide regular briefings to the Dean’s Advisory Board. Manage the Information Technology support for the School including: planning for hardware, software, network, data center, server rooms, desktop support, system administration, and business and application services. Revamp the School’s Information Technology operations through leadership and organizational changes. Set up the SEAS Office of Information Security. Consult with principal investigators on complex grant and contract proposals. Specific achievements include: Complete a benchmark of the GSSW’s strategic position vis-à-vis peer institutions and the top Schools of Social Work and made recommendations for improving performance and ranking. Complete feasibility analysis and wrote proposal for restructuring the program and tuition fee schedules for the MSW program; the new structure resulted in increased enrollment and income. Develop pilot post-disaster business recovery plan for the GSSW, serve as chair of the GSSW recovery team and member of the University Core Business Recovery Team. Coordinate the implementation of the Peoplesoft financial system in the GSSW.
