Biographical/Historical Note

Ralph Yarborough was born June 8, 1903 in Chandler, . He spent a year at West Point Military Academy before becoming a teacher. Yarborough moved from teaching to law and in 1936 was appointed judge. During World War II, Yarborough joined the army and served in Europe and Japan. After he returned to Texas in 1946, he began to pursue politics and was elected to the in 1957, a position he held until 1970. Yarborough died January 27, 1996.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a letter written by Ralph Yarborough to J. William Fulbright concerning a book of all the Medal of Honor recipients in United States history, and which was sent to Fulbright with the letter.
