I hope that you find it useful in your search of a property here in Paradise. Our mantra here at Ricardo Amigo Real Estate is: “WE GET WHY YOU’RE HERE!” I write this in our ads, attach it to our handouts, and repeat it at staff meetings because I want you, as a buyer, to know that my team and I have all been through this experience, and the common thread be- tween all of us is that we wanted a different way of life than what we knew. The inspiration to make the change to live here full- or part-time, or to just invest in the Todos Santos area to have something for the future, comes from that peaceful and tranquil feeling that envelops you when you are here... I felt it immediately on my first visit, and two months later, I came back to stay. It has now been almost 18 years and I can gratefully say that this feeling prevails as a part of my daily life. Just writing this brings a smile to my face. I hope that you will feel this glow as many of us have and understand that life can be simple and beautiful. I believe that this is the spirit that Todos Santos captures. Good luck in your search and we hope to be a part of it. Richie Friend 3 WELCOME TO TODOS SANTOS by Jeffrey Ferman LOCATED JUST 1 HOUR NORTH OF LOS CABOS Todos Santos is a small town of about 5,000 full-time residents, on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, located just north of the Tropic of Cancer. It is midway between Baja California Sur’s two largest cities, Cabo San Lucas (or Los Cabos), a destination resort located at the southern tip of Baja, and La Paz, the capital, on the Sea of Cortez. Although sitting in the midst of a large desert, one could be easily fooled by the abun- dance of tropical vegetation and lush green cultivated fields of basil, chiles, and tomatoes that are present throughout the year, due to the mild and much wel- comed subtropical desert micro climate. There are as many different types of people here, in all age groups, as there are different types of shells on the beach - people who live here full time and enjoy the biggest pastime .... RELAXING. It’s a laid back or “tranquilo”, town, where you can expect a friendly smile and an “Hola” from almost everyone you pass on the sidewalk. If you need to be alone, there are miles of lightly used sandy beaches and hillside trails along the ocean cliffs to provide you with ample soli- tude. If you need culture and social stimulation, there are countless festivals and events, live music, and great restaurants from November through June that draw people from all over the world. 4 Todos Santos Pescadero Cerritos Elias Calles Cabo San Lucas Map data ©2018 Google, INEGI Imagery ©2018 , CNES / Airbus, DigitalGlobe 55 Las Tunas lies just minutes to the north of downtown Todos Santos. This area is populated with many ex-pats. The terrain is much more rolling and there is a lot more vegetation, most of which has been planted by the property owners who have moved into the area in the last 10 years, making it much greener. There is also excellent access to the ocean and a turtle hatching sanctuary on the beach. access to the ocean and a turtle hatching sanctuary on the beach. La Cachora is a magical little strip of land that hugs the North and South sides of a peaceful dirt road that runs down to the beach from a paved road just north of town. It was primarily an agricultural area years ago, as water was easily pulled from the natural springs of the “huerta” directly to the south of it. There is still a lot of farming that goes on there and in the late spring and most of the summer, you can find an abundance of mangoes along the roadside. La Cachora is a beautiful oasis, just on the outskirts of town. Todos Santos. The historic downtown “Colonia Centro” is an area of approximately 20 or 30 square blocks chock full of excellent street food and small shops or “tiendas”, selling everything a person might need to survive in paradise, plus treasures to take home. Its unique hotels, restaurants, and bars offer incredible cuisine, live music, and dancing into the night, and a 66 Las Brisas is one of the more interesting colonias, offering a very integrated living area that is accessible to both down- town and beautiful beaches. This neighborhood rests up on an incline and has great views of the ocean, the mountains, and some downtown. This area offers full services such as markets, restaurants, and some nightlife, and is definitely growing in demand. walk around town reveals art galleries and many historic, elegant old buildings that reflect a long and interesting history It’s all small enough to make your way around this neighborhood on foot. It is a perfect area for those who do not like to drive and are always looking for something inter- esting to see. Around this central core district are a number of other “colonias” or neighborhoods with their own person- alities and features that make them unique. 77 Las Playitas is the farthest neighborhood north of town. It is still in the earlier stages of development and can be characterized by its beautiful beaches and groves of palm trees, sitting like islands among large fields, cultivated and wild alike. There is quite a bit of agricultural activity out this way. The terrain is fairly flat with hills that gently roll to the east, with gorgeous views of both the Pacific and the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range. It’s about 4 miles, around 10 minutes, from downtown Todos San- tos. La Pastora Beach, located in this neighborhood, has a global reputation as one of the best surf breaks in the area for advanced surfers. But don’t tell anyone we told you! Todos Santos is less than an hour away from the major airports located in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz and is easily reachable by paved major highways. It is the jewel of the Pacific that more people are tuning into for the taste of the tranquil lifestyle that is being offered. There are many other areas that will warrant exploring when you get here. And the real estate market has been very active as more and more people search for a place to live that has a slower and more relaxed pace. El Pescadero is its own town, about 5 miles to the south. The highway to Los Cabos runs right through the town, separating the pueblo from the beach neighborhoods. There is a large ex-pat community that runs from neigh- borhoods south of the Los Cerritos Beach and surf break, northward to the San Pedrito surf break. El Pescadero offers diverse terrain with farmland, rolling hills, and lomas, filled with cactus, palm, mango and mango trees, lined with vibrant bougainvillea. The picturesque Sierra de la Laguna mountains rise up in the background, helping to keep the the temperatures a bit cooler. El Pescadero has a definitive and unique personality that you have to experi- ence to understand. 88 Las Playitas Todos Santos El Pescadero Cerritos Los Cerritos is our most versatile beach in the area - it’s the most swimmable, with places to rent surf boards and take lessons from talented locals, plus it has great spots to hang out for a bite or a drink. Most of the properties available in the area offer walking distance to the beach. 99 FEATURED HOME LISTING CASA BELLA La Poza, Todos Santos $1,750,000 10 10 This luxury home overlooks it all.
