Arizona State Archery Association - Ben Avery Archery Range Use Safety: 1. All range users are personally responsible for range safety and safe shooting. 2. All shooters are responsible for immediately correcting any unsafe conditions. 3. If you observe any unsafe conditions, report them immediately to the main range. Ben Avery Shooting Facility: Main range phone number: 623-582-5039. 4. Shooting is permitted when all persons are on or behind the shooting line and safe shooting condition exists. 5. During special events, the range is under the control of the Director of Shooting (Range Master). Obey the instructions of the officials. 6. All shooting is to into archery targets, mats, bales and safe backstops only. Procedures: 1. Handle equipment in a safe manner with arrows always pointing towards the targets. 2. Keep arrows in the quivers until you are given the signal to shoot. 3. Secure loose clothing. Remove loose items jewelry, strings, cords etc. 4. Respect others and their equipment. 5. Pets must be kept on a controlled leash at all times. 6. Deposit trash in waste containers. 7. Special event requests and reservation for the FITA Range require submittal to, and approval by, the BASF main office. 8. Vehicles shall park only in the established parking lot. 9. Overnight parking or camping must be arranged in advance with the main office. 10. Conduct only lawful activities. 11. Be cautious of poisonous animals (snakes, scorpions, spiders, etc.) Equipment: 1. Target archery (bows and arrows) equipment only. 2. Field tips and target archery arrow tip type only. 3. Maximum compound bow poundage, 60#. Prohibited: 1. Use of firearms is prohibited on ALL archery ranges. 2. Smoking is prohibited on the range, in the archer’ area, in the spectator’s area, in the official area and in the canopy area. Deposit tobacco products in appropriate receptacles. 3. Alcohol is prohibited on ALL ranges. 4. Persons who have been consuming alcohol or who are under the influence of drugs are prohibited from shooting. 5. No running with or near equipment and arrows is allowed on the range. 6. Use of targets not specially intended for archery (cans, cactus, bottles, etc.) is prohibited. 7. No climbing. 8. No driving or parking on unimproved desert areas, driveways or in the archers areas. 9. No broad head arrows. 10. Inappropriate language is prohibited. In case of emergency call “911”.
