Cuba trip - September 2018

The Department of Politics is organising a study visit to Cuba led by Dr Stephen Wilkinson, who is the Assistant Director of the International Institute for the Study of Cuba and lectures on Latin American Politics in the University. Stephen has been visiting Cuba since 1987 and has led more than twenty study tours to the island. The visit will deepen participants’ understanding of politics, economics and international relations as well as expand their knowledge of Cuba and its unique character and history. Coase Scholarship Up to five £10,000 scholarships will be available for entrants of Economics in October 2018. Scholarship candidates should have, or expect to achieve, three A level passes with at least one of these graded at A or A* (or have equivalent qualifications).

High Achiever Scholarships An automatic scholarship, worth £2,000 per annum, is available to undergraduate Home (UK/EU) students achieving AAB or above in their A Levels.

Five Counties Award Receive £2,000 per year towards your tuition fees if you are an undergraduate living in (including Milton Keynes), Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire.

PPE Bursary The PPE Bursary is worth £12,888 and four are available each year. The bursary is open to the UK citizens with a household income of less than £25,000 per year or who can demonstrate an equivalent need. Any student accepted into the programme and meeting the criteria can apply. Buckingham bursaries Students in receipt of a maintenance loan of £5,000 or more per annum will receive an automatic bursary of £1,100 per annum.
