Black and White Ball Auction Committee

It's that time of year again -- the Black and White Ball Auction Committee will soon begin gathering items to be auctioned at the annual ball. Volunteers are needed to help make this the best auction ever. Proceeds of the auction will help to support our fabulous Greenville Symphony Orchestra!

If there is a shop or restaurant that you frequent that might be willing to donate something for the auction, you can be of great assistance--even if you are not an active member of the Auction Committee. Before making a request, contact Susan Monaghan ([email protected]) just to be sure the shop or restaurant is not already being contacted by someone else so we do not duplicate requests. Your efforts will go a long way to helping to raise record funds this year.

Please contact Susan Monaghan if you are able to assist, either by working on the Auction Committee or by simply requesting donations from your favorite shops or restaurants. A personal relationship with the donor makes a big difference! After you verify that there are no other requests going to the potential donor, the Auc- tions Committee will send you a donor letter and a 2-part donor receipt.

Thank you!

The Presidents’ Reception

The 2014 Presidents’ Reception was held on Tuesday, September 9th at the lovely home of Ed and Peggy Good. The Good’s home provided the perfect setting for Guild members to get reacquainted after the summer hiatus, to get their new Guild Directory and to help kick-off the upcoming Symphony season.

In addition to enjoying the ambience and history of the Good’s residence, Guild members sampled mimosas and tasty treats provided by the Guild’s current Board of Directors. Nina Huffstetler, a Guild friend, provided the beautiful floral arrangements with flowers gathered from the gardens of Guild members on Latour Way.

Special thanks to everyone who provided the food and beverages and to Sue Fisher and Margaret Wasson who planned this special, well-attended event.
