Julius Began His Dance Training During His Time As a Collegiate Basketball Player in Seattle, Wa Julius began his dance training during his time as a collegiate basketball player in Seattle, Wa. He quickly transitioned into the dance industry and began training and dancing with performing arts groups in the Seattle area. Julius moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue a professional career where he trained with LA’s elite teachers and choreographers, booking his first music video in 2006 with Nelly Furtado (“Maneater”). His carer was jump started when he toured with Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) in 2006. In 2007, he performed in Rihanna’s music video “Umbrella” and soon thereafter booked Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” World Tour. He toured internationally with Rihanna for the next three years with the highlight being Kanye West’s “Glow In The Dark Tour.” Julius has performed in multiple award shows such as the MTV music awards, VMAs, Grammys, and the World Music Awards. He has appeared in many music videos, including “Shut Up and Drive” as a lead actor and “Please Don't Stop the Music” as a lead dancer. During this time, Julius also performed with Chris Brown and toured with him in Australia. In late 2009, he was reunited with Miley Cyrus for her “Party in the USA” music video and booked her “Wonder World” tour. Julius has also worked on multiple TV shows including Canadian Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, BET’s 106th and Park, and Melrose Place as a lead dancer with Taryn Manning. After taking a few years off from dance, in 2015 he booked the movie “Ghostbusters” and most recently was a dancer for the TV show “Maya and Marty” in 2016. Along with dancing, Julius has had his hand in choreography as well. He was an assistant choreographer for Germany’s Next Top Model and was a contributing choreographer for Keisha Cole, Rihanna, Marques Houston, and the 21st Annual Soul Train Music Awards. Julius feels it is a true blessing he was able to have a career in dance, even though he was a late bloomer. He is thankful he was able to travel the world performing, and is gratified to be able to give back to the dance community. .

  • Principals Involved in Lucid Plan Aren?T Done with Aurora
This page was exported from - The Auroran Export date: Thu Sep 30 6:36:34 2021 / +0000 GMT Principals involved in Lucid plan aren?t done with Aurora By Brock Weir With Aurora Live! dead in the water, enough time has passed for heads to cool and assess the situation. But George Roche, founder of Lucid Productions, the group that brought forward the Aurora Live! festival isn't completely done with Aurora. 2014, he said, is definitely a possibility. ?I would love to [bid on a festival] if we can get the ?Wild, Wild West' politics and the cynicism projected by [Councillor Chris Ballard] which I believe rises out of the treatment unto the Aurora Jazz Fest organizers,? said Mr. Roche, referring to the war of words between himself and the Councillor while the festival was still on the table. ?We always had a great feeling of working with Aurora and nothing has changed. When things go a little bit sideways obviously politicians start to protect themselves and their own credibility within the Town, but in this case the credibility wasn't protected.? Credibility also took a hit, he claims when Councillor Abel began to get ?demanding? on which bands should take to the stage and how much they should be paid, as well as what he describes as a ?spectacle? being made out of their references. ?2013 is out of the question [for a festival],? he said. ?We're very sorry it didn't go the way we had proposed. It wasn't anything to do with our actions, certainly being the lead writer and the pitchmen for the plan, I certainly wouldn't have done anything to hijack my own proposal.

  • Canadian Idol!
Voting in Newfoundland and Labrador: Turned off by Canadian Elections? Tune in to Canadian Idol! ALEX MARLAND NEWFOUNDLANDERS AND LABRADORIANS are among the least likely of all Canadi- ans to vote in a federal election. By comparison, turnout in the three nearby Mari- time provinces regularly exceeds the national average. Yet Atlantic Canadians seem to share a common interest in supporting their own in national reality televi- sion programs that allow repeat voting, usually by telephone, in elimination rounds as part of a televised talent search. This article argues that there can be political undertones when Canadians vote as part of the reality television experience. The popularity of CTV’s Canadian Idol contrasts declining engagement in Canadian federal politics. Exploratory data gathered at an Idol audition in St. John’s provides preliminary insights about tele- voting and about young persons’ motivations for becoming contestants. This can help gauge undercurrents of political identity among Idol fans who do not partici- pate in federal elections in Canada, particularly in Newfoundland and Labrador. TURNOUT IN CANADIAN FEDERAL ELECTIONS Official turnout in Canadian federal elections has fallen to new lows in four of the last five contests, including in 2008 when it dipped below 60 percent for the first time. Generally speaking, non-voters are less likely to be on the official list of elec- tors, but are more likely to have lower income, to be new to the country, to have lived a shorter period of time in a community, and to not be contacted by a political party (Blais et al. 2003; Pammett and LeDuc 2003b).
