ACTION NEEDED The State Board of Educationb (Board) is, y statute, responsible for the licensure of educational personnel. One pathway of gaining educational licensure is through the completion of a professional educator preparation program (PEPP) approved by the Board. Saint Anselm College (SAINT ANSELM) is one of 12 institutions of higher education with approved educator preparation programs in New Hampshire. The Council for Teacher Education (CTE) is requesting the Board formally approve the request of Saint Anselm’s thirteen (13) state approved educator preparation programs below. RATIONALE FOR ACTION The CTE accepted the review team’s report and the associated approval recommendations. Additionally, the CTE unanimously recommends to the State Board program approval of the thirteen (13) NH State licensure programs at Saint Anselm for full seven-year approval. (602.04(b)(1)) C. EFFECTS OF THIS ACTION This approval will allow for the Saint Anselm College to continue through an additional term of State Board approval. If approved, Saint Anselm can recommend candidates for licensure, confirming that a candidates have met administrative requirements through completion of a particular educator preparation program and subsequently, be recommended for a professional educator license. D. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND • 8/24/2017: the Board voted initial approval of programs thru April 30, 2020 • 11/8/2018: the Board extended ALL PEPPS by one year; for Saint Anselm, PEPPs expiry thru August 31, 2021 • 5/2019: Class Lang...Substantive change request submitted and approved • 5/8/2019: the Board unanimously approved the new program proposal for Ed 612.33/507.32 Computer Science thru the next unit review (to take place in March or April of 2021) • 7/2020: the Board approved the extension of Ed 612.33 Comp Sci Program approval thru August 30, 2021 Page 2 of 2 E. Submission and approval by NHCTE of a progress report made on program approval standards not previously met; and b. Review by division director or designee focusing on progress made on program approval standards not previously met; or (3) Non-approval which means the PEPP does not meet the relevant requirements of Ed 600. *Per 602.15(e)(1-3), (e) For all decisions of the state board, the following procedures shall apply: (1) The state board shall provide the institution with a description of the procedures for a rehearing in accordance with Ed 213.02; (2) All appeals of final action by the state board shall be taken in accordance with RSA 541; and (3) An administrative decision of the board shall be considered final: a. Thirty days after the decision, if there is no request for rehearing in accordance with Ed 213.02; or b. At the conclusion of action required by Ed 213.02. The State Board of Education reserves the right to modify its approval determination if it receives documentation that program graduates are not achieving the levels of skill and knowledge that would entitle them to educational credentials authorized by the State Board under RSA 186: 11 X.     On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, New England College celebrated Founders Day. James Wright, PhD, President Emeritus, Dartmouth College, served as the keynote speaker and received an honorary degree. The following are Dr. Wright’s remarks. ---------- Thank you, President Perkins. I appreciate your warm welcome. Greetings to members of the board, faculty, staff, and students. And a special salute to community members. This school started because this community wanted it and worked to make it succeed. I hope the citizens of Henniker and of this region take real pride in what you have accomplished. I am honored to be here today and to join in this January celebration. My daughter Ann was enrolled here thirty-five years ago, studying on this campus as well as at Arundel, and this was a good school for her. New England College is an important part of our vital higher education community. As someone who was a first-generation college graduate, one who enrolled after military service, I have a special affection for this school and its heritage, and its commitment to providing educational opportunities for everyone. As a historian, I am pleased to participate in recognition of an institution’s founding. And not simply as a celebration, but as an occasion to remember the work and the goals of the founders, an opportunity to assess how a place has evolved in the passing years. I am not an originalist. I do believe that organizations and institutions and individuals must adapt to a changing world. But they must do it in a way that affirms what they stand for: Their founding purpose.

    Colby-Sawyer College Tuition Benefits Revised 4/1/06 Program & Procedures Page 1 TUITION EXCHANGE PROGRAMS Dependent children of full-time Colby-Sawyer employees may be eligible for three different tuition exchange programs: • National Tuition Exchange Program (NTE) • Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) • New Hampshire College and University Council (NHCUC) Tuition Exchange Program The National Tuition Exchange Program provides scholarships at approximately 570 institutions throughout the United States (see complete list at www.tuitionexchange.org ). This program is coordinated by the Tuition Exchange organization of Washington, DC, and operates on a credit/debit system. Because scholarships are not available every year, employees should check with human resources and/or financial aid regarding availability. The CIC Tuition Exchange Program (CIC-TEP) is a network of Council of Independent Colleges institutions willing to accept, tuition-free, students from families of full-time employees of other CIC- TEP institutions. Each participating institution in the network (see www.cic.edu) agrees to import a limited number of students on the same admission basis as they accept all other students, without regard to the number of students it exports.
