1. LAPORAN HARIAN Hari Ini Tiada Kes Positif COVID Kenyataan Media JPBN Bil 178/2020 JAWATANKUASA PENGURUSAN BENCANA NEGERI SARAWAK KENYATAAN MEDIA (02 OGOS 2020) 1. LAPORAN HARIAN Hari ini tiada kes positif COVID-19 dilaporkan. Ini menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan kes positif COVID-19 di Sarawak kekal sebanyak 678 kes. A. Kluster COVID-19 yang masih aktif. Setakat hari ini, terdapat sepuluh (10) kluster yang masih aktif iaitu: a) Kluster Syarikat Kejuruteraaan: kekal lapan (8) kes b) Kluster Mambong: kekal tujuh (7) kes c) Kluster Pusat Perubatan: kekal tiga (3) kes d) Kluster Jupiter: kekal tiga (3) kes e) Kluster Pasar Stutong: kekal tujuh (7) kes f) Kluster Jeti Kuching: kekal dua (2) kes g) Kluster Sentosa: kekal 31 kes h) Kluster PUI Melbourne: kekal dua (3) kes i) Kluster Syarikat Pembinaan Kuching: kekal dua (2) kes j) Kluster Pasar Satok: kekal empat (4) kes 1 Kenyataan Media JPBN Bil 178/2020 Dimaklumkan juga tiga (3) kes baru yang telah pulih dan dibenarkan discaj dari Hospital Umum Sarawak. Ini menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan kes postif COVID-19 yang telah pulih dan dibenarkan discaj setakat hari ini adalah seramai 594 orang atau 87.61%. Seramai 65 orang masih menerima rawatan dalam wad isolasi hospital, dan jumlah kematian kekal 19 orang atau 2.80% Hari ini sebanyak sepuluh (10) PUI baru dilaporkan dan lapaN (8) kes masih menunggu ujian makmal. 2. STATUS DAERAH KUCHING BERTUKAR KUNING Hari ini, Daerah Kuching telah bertukar daripada status Merah kepada status Kuning dengan jumlah kes tempatan yang dilaporkan dalam tempoh 14 hari yang lepas ialah 39 kes. Daerah Samarahan, Serian, Bau dan Lundu masih kekal berstatus Kuning. Setakat hari ini Daerah Samarahan kekal mencatatkan sebelas (11) kes tempatan dalam tempoh 14 hari yang lepas. Daerah Serian kekal dengan tiga (3) kes tempatan. Daerah Lundu juga kekal dengan satu (1) kes dan Daerah Bau dengan satu (1) kes tempatan yang dilaporkan dalam tempoh 14 hari yang lepas. Ini menjadikan jumlah daerah berstatus Kuning sebanyak lima (5) Daerah. Daerah yang masih berstatus Hijau sejumlah 35 buah Daerah. 2 Kenyataan Media JPBN Bil 178/2020 3. KEPUTUSAN JAWATANKUASA PENGURUSAN BENCANA Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Bencana Negeri Sarawak ingin menjelaskan berhubung Kawalan Pergerakan Di Dalam Negeri Sarawak. A. KaWalaN PergerakaN Di Dalam Negeri SaraWak Kawalan pergerakan di Negeri Sarawak dibahagikan kepada dua (2) zon iaitu ZoN 1 meliputi Bahagian Kuching, Samarahan dan Serian. Manakala ZoN 2 meliputi Bahagian Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri dan Limbang. Mana-mana pergerakan yang melibatkan dari Zon 1 ke Zon 2 dan begitu juga sebaliknya, hendaklah mendapatkan kebenaran bertulis terlebih dahulu daripada Balai Polis yang paling hampir dengan kediaman sebelum memulakan pergerakan. Manakala pergerakan keluar dari Sarawak ke Semenanjung, Sabah dan Labuan, mereka tidak perlu untuk mendapatkan kebenaran daripada pihak Polis. 3 Kenyataan Media JPBN Bil 178/2020 4. LAPORAN NOTIS KOMPAUN DAN TANGKAPAN Pihak PDRM telah mengeluarkan sebanyak 76 notis kompaun kerana tidak mematuhi Garis Panduan (SOP). Notis kompaun yang telah dikeluarkan adalah di Sibu (52), Samarahan (9), Betong (6), Miri (4), Padawan (4) dan Sarikei (1). Manakala dua (2) kes tangkapan warga tempatan di sebuah Bistro di Sibu kerana gagal menunjukkan dokumen pengenalan diri. 5. PEMANTAUAN PEMATUHAN PKPP (10 JUN HINGGA 31 OGOS 2020) PDRM akan terus memperketatkan Garis Panduan (SOP) termasuk pemakaian pelitup topeng muka di tempat awam. Hari ini sebanyak 2,015 premis telah dipantau iaitu Pasaraya (209), Restoran (476), Kilang (20), Bank (146), Pejabat Kerajaan (84), Penjaja (36), Pasar Tani/Awam (105), Tempat Ibadah (101), Tempat Riadah (48), Tapak Pembinaan (19) dan lain-lain (771). Seramai 688 anggota pematuhan PKPP yang terdiri daripada PDRM (351), ATM (44), RELA (139), APM (98), PBT (39), KKM (6),KPDNHEP (3) dan Lain- lain agensi (8). 4 Kenyataan Media JPBN Bil 178/2020 6. SEKATAN JALAN RAYA OP BENTENG Hari ini terdapat 6 sekatan jalan raya di 5 buah daerah bersempena dengan Op Benteng iaitu di Lundu (2), Bau (1), Serian (1), Sri Aman (1) dan Lubok Antu (1). Daripada 6 sekatan jalan raya tersebut, sebanyak 1,810 jumlah kenderaan telah diperiksa. 7. NASIHAT KEPADA ORANG RAMAI Orang ramai adalah dinasihatkan agar tidak leka dan terus kekal waspada. Pastikan saranan dan nasihat-nasihat kesihatan diamalkan pada setiap masa. Antara nasihat yang sewajarnya dijadikan satu kebiasaan baharu dalam kehidupan harian dengan mengamalkan SOP: S: Syarat-syarat seperti yang ditetapkan di bawah Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP); O: Orang yang berisiko tinggi seperti kanak-kanak, bayi, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya (OKU) perlu dilindungi, individu tidak sihat dan bergejala dikehendaki segera menjalani pemeriksaan kesihatan; P: Penjarakan sosial (social distancing) diamalkan pada setiap masa iaitu sekurang-kurangnya 1 meter. A survey of 200 respondents in the Song district was conducted. To determine the objective eth- nolinguistic vitality, a structural analysis was performed on their sociolinguistic backgrounds. The results show the Iban language dominates in family, friend- ship, transactions, religious, employment, and education domains. The language use patterns show functional differentiation into the Iban language as the “low language” and Malay as the “high language”. The respondents have positive at- titudes towards the Iban language. The dimensions of language attitudes that are strongly positive are use of the Iban language, Iban identity, and intergenera- tional transmission of the Iban language. The marginally positive dimensions are instrumental use of the Iban language, social status of Iban speakers, and prestige value of the Iban language. Inferential statistical tests show that language atti- tudes are influenced by education level. However, language attitudes and useof the Iban language are not significantly correlated. By viewing language use and attitudes from the perspective of ethnolinguistic vitality, this study has revealed that a numerically dominant group assumed to be safe from language shift has only medium vitality, based on both objective and subjective evaluation.

Populations of this culturally and commerc~allyimportant specles have fallen to dangerously low levels during the 19905 In an attempt to conserve the species, the Sarawak state government has set up fisheries reserves to protect flsh during spawning in the estuar- les of the Lupar and Lassa rivers. Terubok are protandrous hermaphrodites that, at l+ years old, migrate to the ~nshoreareas of the adjacent coast after initially spawnlng as males To assess the effec- tiveness of the conservation measures we had to confirm that terubok spawn only in the 2 known spawning areas. Otoliths of fish collected from 7 coastal sites and both estuarine spawnlng areas in 1994 had similar ele- mental composition. This confirmed that all fish were probably spawned in 1 of the 2 estuaries. How- ever, otoliths of fish collectcd from 2 of 8 coastal sites sampled in 1995 had significantly different ele- mental composition from the fish from the Lupar or Lassa estuaries.

Regina Garai Abdullah A thesis submitted to Victoria University of Wellington in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy 2016 School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand i Abstract To what degree does accessibility to markets correlate with levels of development? This is an important question for those living in remote, underdeveloped parts of Southeast Asia during the final phases of de-agrarianisation. My study recounts the experience of rural-based Iban households living in the Baleh river basin of the Kapit District (population of 54,200) within a day or less travel by river to the small market town of Kapit (with a population of 18,000). With no connecting roads to the rest of Sarawak and reliant almost entirely on river transport, the local economy remains underdeveloped and is losing population. My field work among 20 villages in three accessibility zones of the Baleh river basin was undertaken over the three month period of May-July 2014. Structured interviews were conducted with 20 village headmen (tuai rumah), 82 heads of household, and 82 individuals within the households. Data was also systematically collected on 153 other individuals, including both residents and non-resident members of these bilik-families. My conceptual framework draws on von Thünen’s model of agricultural land use in order to generate expectations about the possible effects of market accessibility. While the sale of vegetables and other commodities accords with expected patterns, most rural households are in fact dependent on other, largely non-agricultural sources of income.

Previously, Mukah was under the administration of Sibu Division. Situated in the Central Region of Sarawak, Mukah is a coastal town facing the South China Sea, with a 200 km coastline. It is bordered by the Divisions of Sarikei on the South West, Sibu on the South and Bintulu on the North East. This division is accessible by air, road and river. The RM48 million Mukah Bridge, completed on August 31, 2005, connects Mukah to the main road leading to the Pan-Borneo Highway.
