POI N SET T PARK R ET REAT ?RETREAT!!! The school workload is too strong! We need a break to regroup!? There is no doubt, fellow students, we all shared this overworked feeling the last couple weeks, especially now the we are entering the fourth quarter. School work is getting harder, and the desire to do school work is getting smaller. We needed a break, a break from the everyday grind of high school. Luckily, our awesome principal booked us a trip to Poinsett Park for an equally awesome religious retreat! Led by Chelsea and Elizabeth, the day was surely a blast! The themes Faith, Hope, and Love were incorporated into activities and spread throughout the day. For the first activity, we were challenged to traverse the vast chocolate river with only a handful of marshmallows, and a whole lot of faith. However, as we all came to realize, it was much less faith, and much more frustration and yelling. After what seemed like a century of futile efforts, the struggle of group one culminated in one final moment - one final leap of faith? ?...the moment was so intense. After a forever of waiting, trying, and failing, we had finally made it across, everyone except one. One final student remained, alone, standing on a single marshmallow among the ferocious waves of the chocolate river. The remaining marshmallows were all lost. Hope was fleeting. The lone student stood there, motionless, and giggling. We all knew what he had to do. We all cheered him on. It all depended on him. As he began to poise himself for the leap, all were silent. There was a brief pause, then he flew through the air, like a graceful toad. My heart had stopped. It was as if the moment had passed in slow motion. Slowly, he soared, through the air, with the look of determination in his eyes. As he descended, we all screamed? He had done it!? - Anonymous Student. Throughout the rest of the day, there were other activities based on the virtues of hope and love, however, nothing quite matched the excitement of that moment. Truly, it will go down in St. Francis history. The legend of Parker Howard making that final leap will be remembered in the hearts of many. But now, we must again focus on school, for the last quarter is upon us! ? Chris R ickabaugh U PCOM I N G EVEN T S! After Dalton refuses to take part in the 3 pointer basketball competition at Busch Gardens, the senior class makes their way to the shooting competition - for soccer, that is. M att P. makes his way up to the line first, making two out of three shots and receiving the medium sized prize. Hung is next in line, and ends with the same outcome as M att. Lastly, Peter makes his way up, certain he can out shoot his fellow soccer teammates - only to come up with the same medium sized prize as the last two. Suddenly much more confident than before, Dalton steps up to the line with his typical bravado. Looking at the vender, he says, "I've got this," and, much to the senior class' surprise, Dalton kicks the ball with the gentlest of touches and makes the first shot! Silence falls as onlookers watch with bated breath as he makes his way to the next ball and gives it the tiniest of taps. The tension in the air fills as the ball makes its way to the electronic goalie - head on! The machine doesn't move left or right, and their breath is held as they wait for the inevitable sound of the ball hitting the metal goalie... only it never comes! Sure enough, Dalton kicks the ball straight through the goalie's legs without a moments hesitation - not one day of practice and he's already megging! Excitement starts to bubble at the seams as he makes his way to the last ball: Can he make the last goal? Again, with the lightest kick he can muster, his foot collides with the ball. Seconds seem like hours as they wait for the swoosh of the soccer net... but it finally comes! Jumping with joy and success, Dalton claims his large, first place prize and shouts, "SOCCER IS LI FE!" ? Caroline Russell N ETAN YAH U Who is this man? N etanyahu? The name sounds like a sneeze, right? Benjamin ?Bibi? N etanyahu is anything but that. Benjamin served in the Israeli army and special forces. In addition to that repertoire, he is currently the Prime M inister of Israel. N etanyahu was born in 1949, spent his late teen years in the United States, then returned to Israel to join the Israeli Defense Force as an officer and was in an elite commando unit called Sayeret M atkal, which widely conducted counter-terrorist operations. He later went on to become the Israeli ambassador to the United N ations. He was elected Prime M inister of Israel for a term from 1996-1999. N etanyahu was beaten for reelection, then turned to working in the private sector for a few years before returning to politics as the M inister of Foreign Affairs and then later Finance. He was re-elected as Prime M inister in 2009 and is still the current Prime M inister of Israel. Currently, the Obama and N etanyahu administration have been at a disagreement concerning Iran and its nuclear power program. M any countries believe that the Iranian nuclear program is a front for a secret nuclear weapons program and fear Iran is creating a nuclear weapon. The Obama administration feels that they should place trust in Iran to adhere to any treaty that might be formed between these natio, whereas the N etanyahu administration does not place a large amount of trust in a country that has supported the demise of Israel since its inception. Therefore, it is dubious of a N uclear power program. ? Kenneth H arp VOLUM E 3 I SSUE 5 PAGE 4 T RAM POLI N E D OD GEBALL PROM R ECAP!!

Trampoline Dodgeball is a sport that involves a trampoline and balls. It was invented in 2004 with the creation of the Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park in Las Vegas. The sport is played on a series of trampolines on which the two teams do trickshots and dodge balls. Sounds dangerous, right? The rules are similar to that of regular dodgeball except for the rules about trampolines. Since the players are on trampolines, the walls are banked which means the balls never go out of bounds even if they hit the wall. This makes the game more interesting because the balls can bounce off of the walls, ceiling, trampolines, or other players and still get players out. The number of players allowed for each team is twelve. Also for each trampoline square there is a max of two players, otherwise it would get very crowded. Head shots do not count if they are thrown directly, but if a ball bounces of the wall and hits another player in the head then it SEN IOR T R I P WAS GOLD ! counts and they are out. The sport has grown to the point that it has championships. The most recent one was in 2014 at the Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park where it was created. You can play trampoline dodgeball to with your friends. H iWire Trampoline Park located in Columbia has over sixty connected trampolines. They have more than just trampoline dodgeball - you can play basketball or even just mess around. ? Peter Lavergne
