October 2, 2003: this year, no fewer than three BRAINPOOL artists have been nominated for an "Eins Live Krone" (Eins Live Crown) award, Germany’s biggest radio prize. Anke Engelke, Axel Stein and Mario Barth are competing against each other in the "Best Comedy" category.

Anke Engelke is Germany’s most popular comedienne. Her smash-hit comedy, "Ladykracher" (Lady Cracker) is now in its third season, airing every Friday at 10:15 p.m. on Sat.1. With her hugely successful comedy shows, she has already been the recipient of countless awards. Among others, Anke Engelke has received the "Deutscher Comedypreis" (German Comedy Award) in various categories and the "Deutscher Fernsehpreis" (German Television Award).

Axel Stein, the shooting star from the sketch series "Axel!", has also won numerous awards despite being very young. Among others, he received the "Rising Movie Talent Award" and the "Deutscher Comedypreis" (German Comedy Award) in 2002. In 2003, he received the "Jupiter" Movie Award and has also been nominated for the "Deutscher Comedypreis 2003" as "Best Actor in a Comedy".

Mario Barth is the stand-up comedy newcomer of the year. In his stage program, "Männer sind Schweine – Frauen aber auch" (Men are Pigs – but so are Women), he goes to battle for all those men suffering under the bane of emancipation. With his exquisite performance at the "RTL Comedy Cup", he secured himself first place among the new generation of comedians. In the near future, the audience favorite will star in his own comedy quiz show "Keine Ahnung" (No Idea), produced by BRAINPOOL and broadcast by ProSieben.

For the fourth time now, the "Eins Live Krone" awards will be awarded by WDR Radio Eins Live on November 4, 2003 at the Oberhausen Arena. Listeners can vote for their favorite stars from eight different categories.
