00:00 OPENING TITLES

00:20 British postcard (DO NOT TALK INITIALLY)

00:25 Welcome to the World Series by Renault magazine, once again with the 360 degrees show of the Formulas 2.0 and 3.5, the Megane Trophy. Magic the event, magic the track: Silverstone, Great Britain. As usual, and even more, a fantastic and incredible crowd in the grandstand and in the paddock. That’s the beauty of World Series by Renault!

00:50 JINGLE BREAK

00:55 HLTS & ITWS Formula 2.0 Race 1 French driver Jean Eric Vergne is in pole position in the 2.0 Race 1 of the weekend. He logically goes out keeping this first position, followed by a surprising but temporary Adam Kout. Third and fourth are the stars of this category, Antonio Da Costa from Portugal and Alberto Costa from Spain.

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault- 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France sport.com

01:17 Jean Eric Vergne pulls away as behind him Adam Kout is difficult to pass although he is slow. Da Costa and Costa lose time and see Vergne disappearing. It’s time for action. Kout is passed by both drivers in a few hundred meters.

01:30 Meanwhile, far behind, the team mates MP Motosport Nigel Melker and Daniel de Jong crash together, probably annoying their manager.

01:37 Then, after a few laps, the gap between Vergne and Da Costa is no longer. Da Costa is cruel, passing with no mercy, and the Portuguese driver takes the lead.

01:50 Costa won’t stay behind Vergne for long; he is fighting with Da Costa for the overall standings and must keep up with him. Unfortunately Vergne cannot change history. Costa is second.

02:02 Da Costa has to drive hard fight to keep the lead and he finishes ahead of Costa, Vergne, Monras, Munoz and Magnussen. 02:13 ITW Antonio Felix Da Costa (POR) – #6 (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “I pushed very hard and I saw I could catch Jean Eric Vergne and, I just pushed the whole race and finally I caught him and I made a move straight away, then I got a good gap again, it was really a good race”

02:30 Thanks to his first victory of the season, Da Costa strengthens his position and puts himself at the top of the Formula 2,0 overall standings.

02:40 JINGLE BREAK

02:45 Technical feature: Formula 2.0 car set-up Adrian Quaife-Hobbs is born near Brands Hatch, possibly giving this young 18 year old driver a suggested destiny. He drives for the Motopark Academy team. Our question is: knowing that all Formula 2.0 litre cars are the same, what can you do to go faster than the others? 03:03 ITW Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (GBR) - #9 Motopark Academy (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “Usually, if there’s someone in the team who is the quickest, we just look at the data and if it’s someone from another team, we look at the sector times because the track is usually divided in three sectors. And then you can see in which sectors you’re gaining and in which sectors you’re are losing and try and work out because you usually have got a rough idea of which corner it’s going to be. So you can work on the corner where you lose time and then put that into practice the next time you go out” 03:25 To make a good car and a good result, a perfect coordination between the driver and technicians is necessary. Let’s listen to German engineer Eric Baumgartner.

03:42 ITW Eric Baumgartner (GER) – Motopark Academy race engineer (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “One of the main things is aerodynamics, on the front you have wings and also at the rear. This part is the moving part of the rear wing and it’s adjusted by resetting the bolts here. Second thing on the mechanical set up, you can change the springs which are here and change or adjust rear roll bars” 04:20 In wet conditions, it’s necessary to have a maximum tire contact surface on the ground. The solution is modifying the wheels’ angle. 04:30 ITW Eric Baumgartner (GER) – Motopark Academy race engineer (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “The camber angle is basically the angle between perpendicular and the wheel. You can adjust it here so in the wet we reduce the camber”

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault- 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France sport.com

04:46 Of course, there are many other things to do when you want to go fast. Small things which, when added one by one, can make a big difference on the track. But still the main ingredient of success is talent. Making a good car is mostly technical but pushing hard everywhere is a human question. And then it’s a total secret. No driver in the world is able to divulge that information.

05:05 JINGLE BREAK

05:10 HLTS & ITWS Formula 2.0 Race 2 Quaife-Hobbs (#9) joins the start of the grid of Silverstone Race 2 in fourth position, Vergne (#) is in pole position again in front of Costa (#14) and then the surprising Kout (#32.)

05:20 It looks like Race 1 but it won’t finish the same way. Jean Eric Vergne is leading, Costa is just behind and the other top cars get blocked by Adam Kout.

05:32 As Quaife-Hobbs stays in fourth position behind a Kout impossible to pass, an exciting and beautiful fight takes place between the two leading cars. Costa will try everything, lap after lap, to pass the leader Vergne.

05:50 Passing is impossible. Everybody can feel that something is going to happen.

05:55 And it happens but Vergne will not be passed.

06:04 ITW Jean Eric Vergne (FRA) - #1 SG Formula (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “It was a bit hot, I closed the door but he tried to pass in the grass. The problem is that it was impossible to pass. And then I am here to win, I was not here to let him pass and unfortunately for him, he hit me and he span, I saw that in the mirrors” 06:22 Costa is now sixth and is fighting with Da Costa. Too much fighting. Both pilots are out. 06:29 So Vergne wins the race. Kout is logically following. Adrian Quaife-Hobbs saves Britain’s honour, on his home circuit, with a third position. And now, a very short break for our magazine: stay with us! 06:55 JINGLE BREAK

00:32 ITW Greg Mansell (GBR) - #3 Ultimate Motorsport (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “Oh, broke very early, going down three gears, get up the speed… It’s very interesting to see how he’s close to our times!”

00:58 ITW Nigel Mansell – F1 World champion with Renault (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “This is the first time I driven a car with the left foot brake and on the first lap I got braking with my right foot, which was not fun because when I tried to brake I pushed the accelerator… So that woke me up to remember to push with the left leg! The last time I was here in a quick car, the brake was always on the right, not the left, so… It was good, the car is very good! World Series by Renault is a great series. It has even a greater potential to be even a better series. I look forward to maybe speak with some people from Renault because for me the car has a tremendous potential”

01:37 TRANSLATION BREAK – DO NOT TALK!

01:56 ITW Nigel Mansell – F1 World champion with Renault (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “He’ll look at the data and say I’m very slow, very slow, very slow… And I’ll tell him: I have more than twice your age!”

02:45 JINGLE BREAK

02:50 HLTS & ITWS Formula 3.5 Race 1 Action now, with the Silverstone’s Formula 3.5 Race 1! The reverse grid rule gives the advantage to Baguette (#11) and Martinez (#23.) Equal on points in the overall standings, the two drivers share the front row and Martinez immediately takes the lead.

03:05 The situation shifts a bit when Move (#6, ) third, goes onto the grass and drops back to 8th.

03:20 Wonderful battle between Baguette, second, and Fauzy (#19,) inherited third!

03:37 In lap 19, the Belgian driver brakes as late as he can but cannot stay on the tarmac. He comes out 6th, just ahead of Jaime Alguersuari who promptly gets him as well.

03:49 Marcos Martinez wins and reinforces his position as overall leader.

03:57 ITW Marcos Martinez (ESP) - #23 Pons Racing (SPANISH LANGUAGE) “That’s very good, because here I also have to do an exhibition with the Renault F1 car. So, today is a great day! Many thanks to my team, my mechanics, my engineer of the Pons team”

04:20 JINGLE BREAK

04:25 Focus feature: the F1 dream of the driver Marcos Martinez Formula 3.5 is the perfect stepping stone to Formula 1 and Marcos Martinez, Spanish driver of the series, at Silverstone did the first move towards: an exhibition with the Renault F1, as special prize for his provisional leadership!

04:42 ITW Marcos Martinez (ESP) - #23 Pons Racing (SPANISH LANGUAGE) “This is a car very, very hi-tech, everything is perfect for the driver! I already checked a bit the accelerator, the gear, in order to control that everything is fine. The car is perfect, much better than any other else I tested before!”

04:55 TRANSLATION BREAK – DO NOT TALK!

05:00 ITW Marcos Martinez (ESP) - #23 Pons Racing (SPANISH LANGUAGE) “This is a magic weekend but my main target here is the race of Formula 3.5 because I want to win the championship. The Formula 1 test is the prize for my leadership overall, so I want to win the race, first of all!”

05:15 TRANSLATION BREAK – DO NOT TALK!

05:20 ITW Colin Hale – Renault F1 show car manager (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “So far we know he’s really good. Marcos came to the factory for the seat fitting. We checked all the control functions today. It’s just a shame that the weather is not as good as we hoped but hopefully today just to do a few laps to see that Marcos is comfortable in and the car and understands all the controls”

05:42 ITW Marcos Martinez (ESP) - #23 Pons Racing (SPANISH LANGUAGE) “A very special part of the car is the steering wheel, with a lot of controls. We can setup almost whole the car by this. For example, it’s really important the traction control, the diff with various positions, even for high speed corners. Here we can shift the gear, that’s the clutch and here we have the radio button”

06:13 TEAM RADIO (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) “On the last lap I’ll tell you to finish, to come in through the back pit entry, all the way down on the pit lane and then just come in here and stop. An engineer is going to tell you to turn the car off, ok?”

07:05 ITW Marcos Martinez (ESP) - #23 Pons Racing (SPANISH LANGUAGE) “The first time! Yes, the first time! Incredible this Formula 1! So fast, stable… Braking is incredible… The power, the gear shift… Really incredible!”

07:35 JINGLE BREAK

07:40 HLTS & ITWS Formula 3.5 Race 2 And now the Formula 3.5 Race 2, at Silverstone once again. (#2) makes a dream start from pole position, immediately leading ahead of (#1,) James Walker (#5,) Oliver Turvey (#9) and Fairuz Fauzy (#19.)

07:57 Charles Pic is among the last drivers to pit. When he comes out, the French driver is still in first ahead of James Walker .

08:09 A fierce duel between British drivers then ensues for the prize of second place, as Oliver Turvey gets closer and closer to James Walker .

08:19 Charles Pic is pushing hard and puts in a series of fast laps. He’s five seconds ahead of Walker and Turvey. The order is to remain the same right up to chequered flag. So Charles Pic puts an end to his disappointing form this season.

08:33 ITW Charles Pic (FRA) - #2 Tech 1 Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “Very good, I won! In the beginning it was quite easy for me because we did the perfect setup for the first part of the race. I took a good advantage, keeping concentration high. I got some help with the fight between Oliver Turvey and James Walker. After the pitstop the situation was still ok but the last part of the race was quite hard for me: I could control, avoiding any possible mistake, and that’s it”

08:59 That’s the show of Formula 3.5! Stay with us: we’ll be back to you again after a very short break!

PART 3

00:00 JINGLE BREAK

00:05 HLTS & ITWS Megane Trophy Race 1 Welcome back! It’s now the time of the Renault Megane Race 1 at Silverstone. The poleman, Enjalbert (#5) gets off to a perfect start, while Mike Verschuur (#21) has a tougher time reacting as the lights go out. Giorgio Pantano (#25) takes advantage of the time lag and moves past into second place. Enjalbert immediately pulls away inexorably.

00:35 After making a strong start, Jean-Philippe Madonia (#7) loose his bumper in the pack and has to pit, while Verschuur grabs the Pantano’s second place.

00:54 Then, Fabrice Walfisch (#11) and Nick Catsburg (#3) also trie to take Giorgio Pantano (#25.)

01:00 Dimitri Enjalbert holds his leading position after the spate of refuellings, with a lead of over six seconds over Mike Verschuur .

01:23 Enjalbert drives to his third win in a row and gets up some more points on his rivals. By finishing second, Verschuur ends the race just a point away from Hirschi , fourth behind Walfisch , who gets his first podium finish of the season. In the Gentlemen Driver category, Delhez also enjoys his first taste of success this year.

01:40 ITW Dimitri Enjalbert (FRA) - #5 Boutsen Energy Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “Everything as well as I hoped! I mean, in qualifying I was 3 tenths faster than my competitors. I knew my car was very quick for the part of the race and the I did my best, getting immediately a 3/4 seconds advantage. I got an imperfect pitstop, loosing lot of time, coming into the pitlane and also during the refuelling itself. Fortunately my competitors did not make better than me. This way I kept my leadership but I continued to push very hard in order to have the situation really under control, with 8 seconds of gap, and I managed. That’s fantastic! In the championship, this way I came back close to Nick Catsburg and Jonathan Hirschi. I believe, I’m really confident. Hopefully I’ll get another victory here in Race 2, when I’ll start from pole position. We have to wait and see, trying to do the best as usual”

02:55 JINGLE BREAK

03:00 Megane Trophy feature: the atmosphere of the series The Megane Trophy is a great idea. First of all there’s the car: a dynamic, elegant and very impressive racing machine. On these cars two different championships race together, with different aims but friendship rules and good relationships between drivers, mechanics and team members. Let’s meet Antony Tardieu and his pals. No stress before racing, or he has a good way of hiding it.

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault- 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France sport.com

03:23 ITW Antony Tardieu (FRA) - #1 Tech 1 Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “The Megane Trophy can be both competitive and stress free. In these two championships, with Gentlemen on one side and Professional on the other, you will always find them fun and similar to the single seater atmosphere. Which is very pleasant”

03:36 Let’s go a bit further on the pit lane, to the Boutsen Energy Racing Team, where the atmosphere is sometimes teenage like. One of the cars is driven by a feminine crew.

03:49 ITW Margot Laffite (FRA) - #26 Boutsen Energy Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “In these events, everything is made to welcome people, so that there is no separation between the drivers and the public, it’s rather a good feeling to be in contact with the public, it’s quite rare specially on Formula One races where you no access to anything and you do not have the feeling to share the atmosphere as here all is made to have automobile fans gathering and that’s is rather nice” 04:12 Margot Laffitte and Marlène Broggi are always ready to joke, with unfortunate Eurosport journalists as well as with team mates Dermont and Dimitri Enjalbert, who comes from Clio Cup.

04:25 ITW Dimitri Enjalbert (FRA) - #5 Boutsen Energy Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “The Megane Trophy’s atmosphere is top! I was a bit scared when I joined this Megane Trophy but I was wrong, pilots are less close but that is normal, there is more challenge between them but inside our team, the relations are exceptional, I had the occasion to drive among two different Megane Trophy teams and it’s always a true pleasure and a nice atmosphere” 04:54 Pierre Thiriet is a newcomer, from southern France. 05:02 ITW Pierre Thiriet (FRA) - #8 TDS Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “The relationship is excellent, particularly inside the team, we talk to each other very easily, we exchange different advices and as far as I am concerned, I feel a lot of sympathy”

05:09 With the Megane Trophy, the World Series by Renault have found the ideal balance between beautiful racing and a high level of humanity! 05:20 JINGLE BREAK

05:25 HLTS & ITWS Megane Trophy Race 2 Dimitri Enjalbert starts from pole position for the Megane Trophy Race 2 at Silverstone.

05:38 Enjalbert makes a perfect start and goes into the first turn in the lead, ahead of Giorgio Pantano , who charges through from the second row. Mike Verschuur and Jonathan Hirschi are in third and fourth, with Bernhard Ten Brinke in 5th.

06:02 Bernhard Ten Brinke tries an attack on Jonathan Hirschi and makes contact. The Swiss driver goes into a spin and falls back from 4th to 11th place. Ten Brinke gets a drive-through penalty for this manoeuvre.

06:11 Dimitri Enjalbert makes the right choice by refuelling before Giorgio Pantano and Mike Verschuur . The three drivers resume in the same order after pitting. All Dimitri Enjalbert has to do is keep a steady hand until the chequered flag, to claim his fourth victory on the trot.

06:46 Enjalbert is always the leader. The situation of Pantano second placed and Verschuur in third position looks stable but the Italian GP2 champ soon makes a mistake, far from the eyes of the cameras. Verschuur goes, ready to live Silverstone with a six point lead over Hirschi who have to relinquish his leadership in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy overall standings.

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault- 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France sport.com Dimitri Enjalbert makes the Marseillaise ring out on the podium at Silverstone, in front of 135.000 spectators who’ve enjoyed an exciting weekend’s racing. Enjalbert takes his fourth win in a row in Eurocup Mégane Trophy, while Hoevert Vos gets the victory in the Gentlemen Driver category.

07:24 ITW Dimitri Enjalbert (FRA) - #5 Boutsen Energy Racing (FRENCH LANGUAGE) “Wonderful race, the fourth win in a row, in Hungary and here. Difficult race in the beginning, when I got the Giorgio Pantano’s pressure, who was faster than me during the first laps. I did a quick pitstop, much better than my competitors and this way I had a bit of advantage to manage. I could control even if I got flat out from start to finish. It’s a shame because Giorgio Pantano did a mistake and left the second place to Mike Verschuur who gets a lot of points. It was a good occasion for closing my gap with the top of the overall standings, anyway I look forward to the next race at Le Mans with a lot of French friends over there to support me, I cannot wait for!”
