Ferguson, Desan eta Griswold-ek (1988) proposatu zuten moduan, literaturaren soziologiak hiru dimentsio analizatzen ditu: testua (ispilua), sistema (demonioak) eta marko ideologikoak. English-ek (2010), literaturaren soziologiaren ikuspegi berrien artean, soziologia prag- matikoa nabarmendu zuen (Dromi eta Illouz, 2010). Berriki proposatutako kultur soziologia konparatu berri- tuan (Lamont eta Thévenot, 2000) kultur produkzioaren landa/sistema aztertu eta ebaluatzeko proposamen konstruktibista eta erreflexiboa garatu da (Beljean, et al, 2016). Kultur soziologia konparatu zabal honen ara- bera, gizarteek eta gizarteko aktoreek, beren errealitatea ulertzeko, beren gizarteetan eraikitako tresna ezber- dinak erabiltzen dituzte. Literatura da horietako tresna bat, batik-bat errealitatearen ezaugarri garrantzizkoei hel tzen dien literatura, eta gutxieneko estatusa eta publiko-irakurlegoa lortutako literatura-lanak. Beraz, li- teraturaren kultur soziologia bat analisia egiteko ispilua eta tresna metaforak erabiltzeaz gain, sistema lite- rarioa eta marko ideologiko nagusiak analizatzen dira. Analisia egungo euskarazko literaturari aplikatzeko, euskal errealitatearen kontzeptualizazio bat behar da. Euskal errealitate konplexuaren ezaugarri-erronka garrantzitsu bi identifikatu dira: tradizioa-herri eta berrikuntza-hiria munduen arteko zubigintza, eta ezber- dinen arteko aniztasuna. Idazle hautagarri askoren artean, garai ezberdinetako hiru idazle ezagun hautatu dira: G. Aresti, B. Atxaga eta K. Uribe. Geroko ikertze-lanetarako galdera eta gai zehatzagoak garatzeko, idazle hauen lanik esanguratsuenek identifikatutako bi ezaugarri-erronkak nola landu dituzten analizatu da. Hitz-gakoak: konstruktibismoa, kultura, kultura sistema, soziologia kultural konparatua. Abstract This article presents a theorizing pre-study of sociology of literature that can be used as theoretical and ana- lytical frame for research purposes. Ferguson, Desan and Griswold (1988) indicated the three main assets for a sociology of literature: text (mirror), system (demons) and ideological frames. A pragmatic sociology of liter- ature (Dromi and Illouz, 2010) was one of the new perspectives of sociology of literature identified by English (2010). In the recently proposed comparative cultural sociology (Lamont and Thévenot, 2000), a constructiv- ist and reflexive proposal is developed to analyze and evaluate the field of cultural production (Beljean, et al, 2016). Within this broad comparative cultural sociology, societies and social actors, to understand their own realities, are depicted as deploying different tools produced in their respective societies. Literature is one of these tools, especially, those literary works dealing with society’s relevant features and concerns, and those that have gained a minimum of status and public. Thus, for a cultural sociology approach to literature the in- tegration and deployment of the metaphors of mirror and tool is proposed, together with the concepts of liter- INGURUAK [64] | 2018 | 1-23 2 Egungo euskarazko literaturaren soziologia kultural baterantz | Manu Ahedo Santisteban ary system and ideological frames. To apply this analytical framework to contemporary literature in Basque, a conceptualization of Basque reality is needed. In the complex Basque reality two features-challenges are se- lected: integrative bridging between tradition-village and innovation-city, and pluralism among different. Among the broad population of selectable authors, three writers from different periods and with a consider- able status and readership have been selected: G. Aresti, B. Atxaga eta K. Uribe. In order to advance issues for further research, it is thus analyzed how the main literary works of these authors deal with the two identified significant features-challenges of the Basque reality. Key words: constructivism, culture, cultural system, comparative cultural sociology. 1. ATARIKOAK1 Egungo gizarte garaikideetan literatura kultur fenomeno inportante bihurtu da. Orohar, gutxieneko irakurlegoa duen literatura bat hizkuntza komunitate horretako gizartearen bere auto-definiziorako iturri eta erreferentzia garrantzizkoa da. Idazle eta lanen kanoni- zazio prozesuaren ondoren, literatura hezkuntza sistemako kurrikulumetan sartu ohi da. Literatura gizarte garatu baten kultur eta pentsatze-interpretazio sistemako elementua da gainerako elementuekin batera: beste kultur adierazpideak, hedabideak, informazioa eta ezagutza. Literaturaren soziologian oinarrizko ideia bat egon da (Ferguson, et al., 1988; Griswold, 1993): literatura eta gizartea isla edo ispilu gisako erlazioa dute. Batetik, literatura gizar- tearen produktua eta isla da. Bestetik, alderantzizko ideia: literatura errefraktatzen duen ispilua da; hots, errealitate sozialaren ezaugarriak islatzen dituen ispilua ere izan daiteke, ispilu horrek gizarteari erreflexioak itzultzen dizkio, eta hauek gizarteak erabiltzen ditu gogoetak, sentimenduak eta sinesmenak eraikitzeko. Beste hitzetan, errealitate kolektiboa definitzeko tresna gisa uler daiteke. Argudio hau pentsamendu pragmatikoan eta kons- truktibistan batik-bat izan da proposatua (Rorty, 1989; English, 2010), eta pragmatismoan eta konstruktibismoan inspiratutako kultur soziologia konparatuaren ikuspegian ere bai (Lamont eta Thévenet, 2000; ). Literatura ispilu-tresna gisa analizatzeko, gizarte modernoa eta garaikidea argi ulertu eta definituak behar dira izan. Ikuspegi teoriko hau euskarazko literaturari aplikatzeko honelako galderak egin daitezke: Zein funtzio du euskarazko literaturak euskal komunitateak bere errealitateaz gogoeta egiteko,

It takes into account the network of entities that, under the leadership and oversight of ETA, have developed the political, economic, cultural, support and propaganda agenda of their terrorist project. The study focuses in particular on the periods 1993-2002 and 2003-2010, in order to observe the changes in the financing of terrorism after the outlawing of Batasuna , ETA's political wing. The results show the significant role of public subsidies in finance the terrorist network. It also proves that the outlawing of Batasuna caused a major change in that funding, especially due to the difficulty that since 2002, the ETA related organizations had to confront to obtain subsidies from the Basque Government and other public authorities. Keywords: Financing of terrorism. ETA. Basque Country. Spain. • Self-Determination for the Basque People
THE HUMAN RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION AND THE LONG WALK OF THE BASQUE COUNTRY TO A DEMOCRATIC SCENARIO ―Law is a living deed, not a brilliant honors list of past writers whose work of course compels respect but who cannot, except for a few great minds, be thought to have had such a vision of the future that they could always see beyond their own times‖. Judge Ammoun ―Separate Opinion‖ Advisory Opinion of the ICJ Jon Namibia, 1971 Introduction Let me start with some considerations. The case of the right to self determination is the case of human rights and history shows us that human rights are the cause of the oppressed, the cause of the colonized, the subalterns, and the cause of those on the other side of the borderline. Human rights have always been opposed by those in power, by the states of the capitalist world system. And so the recognized human rights are not but the consequences of long term struggles for non-recognized rights. And same pass with the right to self determination. Those who today consider this right only to be applied to colonies or occupied territories, are the same who opposed to the struggles for national liberation. Those who consider right now the right to self determination recognized in art 1 of the UN International Covenants on Civil and Political rights and Social, Cultural and Ecomic Rights are the same who opposed in the UN to the stablishment of art.1 and those who right now try to limit the right of indigenous peoples to self determination.

JUZGADO CENTRAL DE INSTRUCCION Nº 005 MADRID NIG: 28079 27 2 2009 0002065 78300 DILIGENCIAS PREVIAS PROC.

  • Strategic Thinking and Conflict Transformation a Reflection on and from the Basque Country
Strategic thinking and conflict transformation A reflection on and from the Basque Country Urko Aiartza Azurtza Berghof Transitions Series No. 14 About the series: This report is published within the framework of the Berghof Transition Series. Initiated in 2008, it originally included case studies produced for a research project on ‘Resistance/Liberation Movements and Transitions to Politics: Building a Network of Experience’. It has provided a unique space for ‘insider experts’, that is, stakeholders in past and ongoing peace processes around the world, to reflect critically on their own experiences in conflict transformation. Although the views expressed are those of the authors and contributors, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Berghof Foundation, we deliberately seek to give a voice to the perspectives of those actors who are in the driving seat of conflict transformation. Even though every conflict setting is unique, we strongly believe that such experiential knowledge can help other peacebuilding stakeholders worldwide learn from the failures and successes of their ‘peers’ in the various contexts explored in this publication series. The author previously co- authored another Transition Series report on the Basque peace process, covering the 1958-2007 period and the various attempts at negotiation between ETA and the Spanish Government (Aiartza and Zabalo 2009). This report updates it, while concentrating more specifically on internal strategic decision-making, and highlighting the innovative aspects of the current peace process. Series editor: Dr. Véronique Dudouet [email protected] About the author: Urko Aiartza Azurtza is a Basque Lawyer and consultant. He holds a Master in Law from the University of the Basque Country EHU-UPV, and a Master degree in Conflictology from UOC- UNITAR.

  • Etnografia Polska T. 62 (2018), Z. 1-2, from the Basque Family to Basque
„Etnografia Polska”, t. LXII, 2018, z. 1–2 PL ISSN 0071-1861 KATARZYNA MIRGOS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, University of Gdańsk FROM THE BASQUE FAMILY TO BASQUE FAMILIES. SELECTED ASPECTS OF RESEARCH INTO BASQUE FAMILY LIFE1 Until recently, the family was considered a natural and universal category, char- acteristic of all cultures and performing similar functions everywhere. The assump- tion about the strength of “blood ties” was also widespread. Today, the construct encompassing the family and its definition is viewed from a much more critical and broad perspective, and its cultural or historical changeability is noticed (Bestard- Camps 1991, pp. 80–81, Fishburne Collier, Rosaldo, Junko, Yanagisako 2007, pp. 60–75). Sometimes, attempts at defining it are even abandoned (Stanisz 2013, pp. 9–13, Ostrouch-Kamińska 2011, pp. 18–21). Researchers also note that the crisis or the end of the family has been repeatedly announced and its “evolution” (for example from the large and multi-parent household to alternative models) is not so unambiguous and obvious as previously assumed (Schmidt 2015, pp. 23–50, 184–189). Ignacio Irazuzta indicated that: [...] to the present day there has been a tendency to consider the family as the social location clos- est to nature, as the first instance of contact between an individual and society [...] Today, in light of the contemporary tendency toward framing new family models, the family continues to occupy a central place in Basque intellectual debate (Irazuzta 2005, p. 88). The aim of this text is to outline the images of the family in the Basque Country2 and the diversity of modern Basque families.
