Legendariska Punkbandet Millencolin På Turné 2017-09-07 10:00 CEST Legendariska punkbandet Millencolin på turné Efter 23 år, närmare 1 500 konserter och åtta album är skatepunkarna från Örebro fortfarande aktuella. För åtta år sedan beslutade de att ta en paus från låtskrivandet för att driva egna projekt, men 2015 gjorde de en efterlängtad comeback med albumet ”True Brew” och fick återigen vind i seglen. Den 10 november beger de sig ut i landet på turné. Biljetter finns via LiveNation.se. Det legendariska bandet Millencolin startade 1992 i Örebro och gav ut sitt första album ”Tiny Tunes”, senare kallat Same Old Tunes, 1994. Sedan dess har de gjort närmare 1 500 konserter och gett ut ytterligare sju album. Till följd av deras världs- och europaturnéer och musikens medverkan i allt från filmer till tv-spel hittar man Millencolin-fans i jordens alla hörn. Bandets senaste album ”True brew” släpptes 2015 efter sju års paus uppehåll. Det märks att medlemmarna i Millencolin är precis lika tighta som när de startade för 25 år-, 8 album- och ungefär 1500 live-spelningar sedan. Oulun kaupunginkirjasto on osa OUTI-kimppaa, johon kuuluu kaikkiaan viisitoista eri kaupungin- ja kunnankirjastoa. Koska OUTI-kirjastoilla on yhteinen aineisto- ja lainaajarekisteri, on työssä otettu huomioon kirjastojen muodostama yhteiskokoelma. Opinnäytetyö on tehty kuitenkin Oulun näkökulmasta, ja joiltain osin (karsinta, tarroitus, punkhylly) se keskittyy vain Oulun pääkirjaston musiikkiosastoon. Työssä keskitytään CD-levyihin, rajauksesta päätettiin yhdessä toimeksiantajan kanssa. Työssä on kaksi keskeistä tavoitetta: punk-kokoelman kehittäminen ja musiikin löydettävyyden parantaminen. Punk-kokoelman kehittämisessä hyödynnän Evansin mallia, jonka kuusi osa-aluetta käyn yksitellen läpi. Tärkeimpinä tuloksina kehittämisessä voidaan pitää tekemääni kokoelma- arviota, sekä sen pohjalta tehtyjä valinta- ja karsintalistoja.

    Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
