    Michelangelo Biography Michelangelo (1475 – 1564) Italian Renaissance sculptor, painter, poet and architect. One of the most influential Western artists of all time. “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free. “ – Michelangelo Short biography of Michelangelo Michelangelo Buonarroti was born on 6 March 1475, in a Florentine village called Caprese. His father was a serving magistrate of the Florentine Republic and came from an important family. However, Michelangelo did not wish to imitate his father’s career, and was attracted by the artistic world. At the time, this was considered an inferior occupation for a family of his standing. But, aged 13, Michelangelo was apprenticed to Domenico Ghirlandaio, the leading fresco wall painter in Florence. Here Michelangelo learned some of the basic painting techniques, and also taught himself new skills such as sculpting. Madonna of the stairs – Michelangelo’s earliest works His talents were soon noticed by one of the most powerful families in Florence – Lorezo de’ Medici. Here, at de Medici’s court, Michelangelo was able to learn from the classic Masters and he became determined to improve upon the great classics of Greek and Latin art. Michelangelo, was born in the heart of the Renaissance movement, at exactly the right place – Florence. But, despite being at the heart of the Renaissance, Florence was undergoing tremendous political turmoil. His first patrons, the de Medici’s, lost power and Michelangelo was forced to look elsewhere for commissions. In 1496, he travelled to Rome where he began a long relationship of doing commissions for the Popes who were making St Peter’s Basilica a pinnacle of Western art.

    Appendice 5: Rete di monitoraggio Il Centro Funzionale Regionale gestisce la rete strumentale di monitoraggio e sorveglianza (L. 100/2012, Art. 3-bis) e svolge le attività “storiche” di rilevamento, validazione, archiviazione e pubblicazione delle grandezze idrologiche ed idrografiche, nonché climatiche, con la competenza di cui all’art 22 del DPR 24/01/1991 n 85 (ex Ufficio Idrografico e Mareografico di Bari). Nello specifico, il Centro Funzionale si occupa di organizzare ed elaborare i dati meteo-climatici, idrologici ed idraulici rilevati dalle stazioni di monitoraggio distribuite sul territorio (tab.1) - ovvero quelle situate lungo il reticolo idrografico superficiale che va dal bacino del fiume Fortore a quello del fiume Lato, compreso il bacino interregionale del fiume Ofanto - al fine di divulgarli alle utenze pubbliche e/o private che ne facciano richiesta. Il Centro Funzionale provvede a dare massima diffusione ai dati rilevati dalle stazioni di monitoraggio con la pubblicazione degli Annali Idrologici (Parte I e II) accessibili anche tramite il sito istituzionale www.protezionecivile.puglia.it. Il Centro Funzionale svolge inoltre attività di studio ed analisi dei fenomeni fisici di carattere meteoclimatico ed idrologico, in modo da rendere disponibili i dati ottenuti per i modelli idrologici e previsionali, a supporto della progettazione delle opere idrauliche di utilizzazione delle risorse idriche e di difesa dai rischi indotti dagli eventi estremi. Il Centro Funzionale si occupa infine della gestione, pianificazione, manutenzione e potenziamento della rete di monitoraggio meteo-idrografica regionale (fig. 1 - tab. 2) . In località Minerva sono stati trovati numerosi vasi ed altri manufatti. Altri rinvenimenti si sono registrati sulla sommità del Montecamplo, un territorio inciso da grotte e gravine, ma anche a Riva dei Tessali sull'arco Ionico. Medioevo In seguito alla distruzione dell'insediamento di Minerva, presumibilmente durante il passaggio di Alarico I, la popolazione fuggì riparando nei centri vicini. Sulle ceneri dell'antico abitato, si sarebbe formato intorno al 550 il centro tardo antico di Castanea (Καστανέα in greco bizantino). Le scorrerie dei Saraceni fecero in modo che Castanea s'ingrandisse, dato che le sue mura fortificate ne fecero il rifugio degli abitanti dei centri vicini. In questo periodo la città cambiò nome divenendo prima Castellum Unitum e poi Castellanetum. Esiste però un'altra versione circa le radici di Castellaneta.

Identification was performed by DNA barcoding unveiling host-plant relationships for 29 Lepidoptera species. The authors propose a larger-scale approach using this rapid and efficient method and encourage entomologists to join the team.
