Många av dessa kände att de hade velat prata med er, dela sina historier om Marie med er, om vad hon betydde för dem, och hur mycket hon har förändrat deras liv. She was a very talented musician and an inspiration to many people, such as myself, who adored her vocal style. She had a genuine drive and passion that always showed through her performances. I had the fortunate chance of meeting her in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheatre during Roxette's last world tour that encompassed the Americas in 2012. It was probably a brief moment for her but was the world to me to be one of the few chosen to meet and greet. She was genuinely kind to all us fans who got a meet and greet. I told her she was a talented vocalist and stated I had majored in vocal music. Her tonal quality and style helped influence myself to find the right timbre and style of a song. I would ask myself, before signing a song, how would Marie sing this song???.... Many times I failed as no one sings like Marie. She was amazing. A dream would have been to receive feedback from such an amazing musician as herself. I remember first hearing her voice on the song Dance Away. It was around 1990 as my mother was playing the Vinyl while cleaning the house. I was hooked. Being a casual fan I became a bigger fan as I rediscovered Marie and Roxette in the early 2000s and realized they had albums after Joyride. It was her voice that made me become a huge follower of Roxette. Roxette was only there because of Marie! Her recovery from cancer and inner-strength was also inspiration for my struggles. May you all find comfort in these difficult times. Her loss is too great to express in words. Until we all meet again. Her legacy will live in my heart forever �! I've been a big fan most of my life and regretfully never got the chance to see you perform live. As a musician, I always enjoyed playing guitar along to your music and always sing, "The Look" at karaoke. You will be missed but your music lives on forever. Now, over 30 years and hundreds of songs later later, they are one of my favorite bands. If Marie meant that much to me, I can only imagine how much she meant to her family and loved ones. Their recovery has major ups and downs. Sometimes tests turn out great. Other times not so good. Patients feel strong and hopeful when treatments are working; anxious and fearful when results are disappointing. One day things are fine, the next day your friend feels sick. The journey to recovery is not predictable day to day, and each person reacts differently. Remember to be flexible with your friend’s changing moods and medical situation. (Certain medications can cause mood swings). You can provide much needed support with your caring and compassion. Even a few tender words can go a long way. Stay calm. A newly diagnosed cancer patient can be confused, frightened, sad, and angry. By the time you are shocked to learn that your friend has cancer, they are likely already having tests and beginning a treatment plan with their doctors. Don’t bring panic back into their life. Be calm, be thoughtful, and simply listen. It is selfish to talk about yourself. Focus instead on your friend’s needs and experiences. This journey is all about them, not you. Try on their shoes. Put yourself in your friend’s shoes.

The mane is there to hold on to in times of peril - including if you feel you're about to loose your balance and hit the ground while mounted. "Grab mane" - the instructor will shout out to you. It's security. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There is a great quote by Englishman William Camden ; "Betwixt the stirrups and the ground, mercy I asked for, mercy I found." Sometimes, mane, stirrups and saddles are no match for a bucking horse. If you bury your head in your horse's mane, you'll smell each horses' distinctive odor. It's not what you think - it's not offensive. It's the smell that would have you identify them if smell were your only sense. Breathe in and mark it so you can recall it. If you bury your head in your horse's mane on a sunny Carolina blue sky day, you are filled with a sense of joy at being alive and having such a noble creature as your friend. Yes, they are there day in and day out requiring feeding and care. Non-horse people label it as work. That daily rhythm is our tether to the balloon of life. Sometimes you're soaring, sometimes you're crashing. No matter what, those daily chores keep you grounded. If you bury your head in your horse's mane while laughing at something playful they have done, you share a special moment - a time of pure joy.

Guess what? We have just celebrated our 18th anniversary. Those who try things we recommend are rewarded. We have stayed in business for one reason and that is we have never attempted to appeal to the lowest common denominator as mainstream outlets do. At the same time we recognise that people do have different tastes and to some CMT is actually good. We also appeal to those people and offer many mainstream items in our bargain bin. But the legends and true country music are our bread butter and will always be. If you see something you think you may like but are worried let us know. If you pass our inquisition we may be able to send it on a sale or return basis. I say inquisition because if your favourite artists are SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts we certainly aren’t going to risk something as precious as Justin Trevino. By the same token we believe great music is timeless and knows no bounds. People may think chuck steak is good until they try the best rump! Recently I had the pleasure of seeing Dale Watson. Before hand I had the added pleasure of sitting in with my compatriot Eddie White (a.k.a. “The Cosmic Cowboy”) for an interview at the 2RRR Studios. Dale is a humble, engaging and extremely likeable man with a passion for tradition.
