An operational plan has been completed for Volcan Masaya National Park. 5- Mission has no plan to significantly increase number of institutions receiving USAID assistance. Miles de habitantes del sur de Lempira se beneficiarán con la obra. La nueva vía permitirá exportar hortalizas, café y otros cultivos a El Salvador, coinciden alcaldes y pobladores. "Tendremos una carretera de primer nivel”, resalta el presidente Hernández. "Mi aspiración es convertir a este sector en polo de desarrollo del occidente del país”, señala. Valladolid (Lempira), 21 de mayo. La generación de empleo, la potenciación del comercio y el fomento al turismo son algunos de los muchos beneficios que traerá la construcción del tramo carretero Valladolid-La Virtud-Mapulaca, en el sur del departamento de Lempira, cuya apertura de sobres de licitación se realizó hoy con la presencia del presidente Juan Orlando Hernández. El proyecto de pavimentación con concreto hidráulico tendrá un costo de precio base de licitación de 480 millones de lempiras; dejará 350 fuentes de empleo y traerá un beneficio directo a 20,000 pobladores de este sector. El tramo carretero de 30 kilómetros unirá los municipios de Cololaca, Tambla y Valladolid con La Virtud, Mapulaca y el puente La Amistad, que comunica con El Salvador, y es parte de la vía San Marcos de Ocotepeque-Valladolid, cuya inversión total es de 1,000 millones dee lempiras. Un sueño anhelado por 16 años El alcalde de Valladolid, Pedro Menjívar, resaltó que “soy testigo de lo que se está desarrollando en nuestra Mancomunidad del Sur de Lempira con la construcción del tramo de 29.2 kilómetros de San Marcos de Ocotepeque hasta Valladolid en su primera etapa”. -

Emergency Appeal n° MDRSV002 El Salvador: Floods GLIDE n° FL-2009-000238-SLV Operations update n° 2 22 February 2010 Period covered by this Ops Update: 16 December to 8 February 2010 Appeal target (current): 1,680,178 Swiss francs (1,567,840 US dollars or 1,145,120 euros); <click here to view the revised budget and interim financial statement> Appeal coverage: currently approximately 92%; <click here to go directly to the updated donor response report, or here to link to contact details> Appeal history: · This Emergency Appeal was initially launched on 17 November 2009 for 1,701,194 Swiss francs (1,681,039 US dollars or 1,127,553 euro) including 173,262 Swiss francs for the Shelter Cluster coordination for 9 months to assist 10,000 beneficiaries. · Disaster Relief Emergency Fund (DREF): 182,501 Swiss francs (180,614 US dollars or 120,783 euros) was initially allocated from the Federation’s DREF to support the Salvadoran Red Cross Society (SRCS) to respond to the floods. The Canadian government through the Canadian Red Cross and the Italian government have generously replenished the DREF funds allocated to this emergency. Summary: On 7 November 2009, the passing of Tropical Storm Ida and the low pressure system caused 2 heavy rain, floods and landslides throughout the country affecting around 15,000 families (75,000 people). Based on the situation, an Emergency Appeal was launched to respond to a request from the Salvadoran Red Cross Society, and aims to provide support and ensure appropriate and timely response in delivering assistance and relief in the following sectors: relief distributions, shelter, emergency health and care, water and sanitation and hygiene promotion and rehabilitation of livelihoods. -

Al segundo trimestre, la SESAL reporta una ejecución presupuestaria de L.218.9 millones (21%) a nivel de devengado y L.229.7 millones (22%) a nivel de compromisos, en relación al Presupuesto Vigente; producto de la ejecución de seis proyectos adscritos, orientados a la construcción y modernización de hospitales, asistencias técnicas, equipamiento biomédico, reducción de la mortalidad materna neonatal mediante la mejora de la calidad, gestión y capacidad de respuesta en los servicios de salud, así mismo, lograr la descentralización de servicios como alternativa al mejoramiento del acceso a los servicios de salud a la población hondureña. -

EXISTING PROBLEMS AND TARGETS OF THE MASTER PLAN The study revealed that 30% of the Target Area for Disaster Prevention is occupied by flood or landslide hazardous area and 15% of the total population live in those dangerous areas. The target of the Master Plan is to minimize the damage and avoid any loss of human lives by flood and landslide even with a hurricane of the Mitch scale. In order to attain this goal, a master plan composed of non-structural measures and structural measures was formulated. 2.
