My Dying Bride Voice of the Wretched Das allererste Livealbum der wohl besten, anspruchsvollsten und genialsten Progressive Doom/Death Metal Bands überhaupt , ist nun endlich fertiggestellt. Aufgenommen in Tilburg auf dem Peacefest im letzten Jahr, bietet dieses Album einen guten Querschnitt durch die Geschichte der Band. Und es ist immer wieder faszinierend, wie es diese Ausnahmeband schafft, Sowohl auf Studioscheibe, Live als auch eben auf dieser Livescheibe einem eine Gänsehaut zu verpassen. Ob Aaron Stainthorpe in seinen Vocals weint, brüllt oder auch grunzt, ein andauerndes Gänsehautfeeling, was einem die Tränen in die Augen treibt. Die Emotionen die hier transportiert werden, sind einfach unbeschreiblich. Ob es Klassiker wie „Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium“oder „The Cry of Mankind“, Und „Turn loose the Swans“ sind, oder auch neueres wie „Under your Wings and into your Arms“ und “A cruel Taste of Winter”, egal, alle Nummern wissen auf dieser mehr als nur Top produzierten Livescheibe absolut zu überzeugen. Für „My Dying Bride“ Fans ist es ein Pflichtkauf, und für alle , die diese göttliche Band noch nicht kennen, ein verdammt guter Überblick der bisherigen Schaffensphase von „My Dying Bride“. CRITICAS DE CDS My Dying Bride Título The Dreadful Hour Sello Peaceville Antes de iniciar el comentario sobre este trabajo, me parece importante comentar que he escuchado muy poca cosa de My Dying Bride antes de este último "The dreadful hours", y eso puede ser sinónimo de máxima objetividad o de incultura musical. Pero tengo buenas referencias sobre este grupo británico, pues algún colega con tendencias depresivas me ha comentado que estuvo a punto de suicidarse después de escuchar "The angel and the dark river", y esto es lo mínimo que se puede esperar de un buen grupo de Doom. La idea del suicidio me vuelve a la cabeza al escuchar la línea melódica increíblemente depresiva que abre el disco, y es que no todo el mundo tiene un sentido del humor a prueba de "novias moribundas". El disco continua, con la constante mezcla de melodías melancólicas y riffs lentos y contundentes a la vez, con el acompañamiento de un bombo omnipresente y unas voces increíblemetne tortuosas que se combinan con otras guturales. Esto me obliga a estrechar cada vez más la soga que me rodea el cuello, sobretodo al llegar a la cuarta canción "Black heart romance", mi preferida. Continua la tortura emocional con "A cruel taste of winter", con unas atmósferas de teclado que te hielan la sangre. El desánimo prosigue con "My hope, the destroyer" y "The deepest of all hearts". Parece impensable que unos músicos como los de My Dying Bride que reconocen ante la prensa que son los tíos más felices del mundo, puedan extraer tanta oscuridad de su interior; seguramente el secreto es precisamente el ser feliz y sólo dejar salir el lado oscuro al componer. -
