Introduction Braconinae is a large subfamily of cyclostomes group of parasitic wasps in the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea). They constitute more than 2900 described species that are mostly tropical and subtropical (YU et al. 2012). Members of this subfamily are often black, red, orange and/or white in colours. They are small to medium-sized insects, characterized by their concave labrum, absence of epicnemial carina, absence of occipital carina, females have extended ovipositor (SHARKEY 1993).

ICHN - SCL, IV: 27 - 30 Mataró, 1986 SOBRE LA PRESENCIA DE GORTYNA XANTHENES (GEMAR) A CATALUNYA. (LEP. ABS TRACT The authors have studied the artichoke moth Gortyna xanthenes (Germar), (Lep. Noctuidaé), which is found in "Baix Llobregat" and ---- "Baix Ebre" regions, attaking globe artichoke. This species is a major pest of this plant. The morphological, bioecological and behavioural -- conditions of development are indicated, in Catalonia. The possibility of integrated pest management are discuted.
