Dear Alan Alger and Foothills Council,

I am writing in regards to a name change on 274 Ave and 16th street. The road runs in front of our mixed farm in DeWinton, Alberta in Foothills County.

I have been thinking about writing this for some time. Just recently, I read about my Great Granddaddy in the August and September issue of the Canadian Cowboy Magazine. The Article was written about Ranching Pioneers. My family has been ranching and farming for over 100 years in Foothills County.

My Great Granddaddy established his first farm in 1908 in DeWinton, AB. I am requesting a name change that goes along our farm, my Uncle's land (Hari) and my Auntie, April’s (Hari) land as well as ours.

I know that this might impact the fire station as well as 911 dispatch and Google Earth, however, there are a lot of changes and these services are familiar with change. In fact, I spoke to a fireman buddy of mine and he said it should not be a problem. New buildings, structures and new streets are revised all the time.

I am requesting a name change to Hari Drive West.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

Arpan Hari

You don't often get email from Good Afternoon Sherri, I hope everything is going well. I am giving you the heads up that we are planning to have the 2021 Truck convoy for Special Olympics happening on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 1000hrs, I am hoping the county will support this initiative going through Aldersyde. I apologize for the late notice, I got the heads up while on vacation last week. I will attach the ops plan, the insurance policy is up for renewal at the end of every July and I won’t have the new one until August, I will send it out once I get it. It will have Foothills County on it for the policy as well.

Your peace officers are invited to assist us during the convoy.

Page 12 From: Hugo Bonjean Sent: August 19, 2021 1:35 PM To: Suzanne Oel Subject: Request to present to Council results of comparable bylaw research on agri-tourism

Dear Reeve Oel,

In June you invited us to present the results of the Culinary Tourism research that compares Foothills County bylaws with other municipalities where agri-tourism thrives and you asked the research to be specific.

Due to the delay of the grant approval the research started later than anticipated but is now well under way and will be completed by September 17th. We will forward you the report as soon as it comes available to us. Just like with all our market research and tool developments this report will be made public via our website. We do feel that the right way of making the results of this research public is via a presentation to Council and therefore request presentation time for Culinary Tourism on September 22nd, 2021. We do not expect Council or the administration to directly comment on the findings, but to simply take note of the research for further internal consideration and review.

Foothills Tourism sincerely hopes that this report and presentation will be the start of a constructive dialogue with the goal of removing regulatory barriers in Foothills County that will allow our region to benefit from the economic development opportunity that was identified in our first market research report from WMC https://foothillstourism.com/pdf/FTA_Final_Report_Unlocking_the_Foothills_Tourism_Potential_July_2 020.pdf and analyzed and quantified more in depth by Culinary Tourism research which was presented to Council in June https://foothillstourism.com/pdf/FTA_-_Research_Summary_Report_-_June_23_2021.pdf.
