800.275.2840 MORE NEWS» insideradio.com THE MOST TRUSTED NEWS IN RADIO WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2014 Study uncovers big opportunity for radio to tap email marketing budgets. There’s good news for broadcasters that have built monetizable listener email databases. A survey of nearly 400 marketers conducted by email marketing services provider StrongView shows continued reliance on email marketing for 2015. More than nine in ten (93%) marketers report their email marketing budget is either staying the same or increasing for the 2014-2015 holiday shopping season. According to StrongView, email marketing remains the top target for increased investment in 2015. In terms of overall marketing budgets, 54% of brands will see an increase and a third of those will be increasing it by more than 10% over 2014. While it may be considered slightly old school, email was already the radio industry’s second fastest growing digital channel in 2014, according to Borrell Associates, up 40% to $89 million. Should it continue at its current rate, it will surpass streaming audio as radio’s second biggest producer of digital dollars. “Email is one of the larger opportunities for radio, if not the largest,” Borrell Associates CEO Gordon Borrell says. Stations have used loyalty programs and contests to build robust email databases. The next step is segmenting them to learn more about the individuals on the list to deliver more targeted audiences for advertisers. Real-time marketing is the latest trend email marketers are exploiting. It allows individual personalization based on an opener’s location, weather, temperature or device type to build real-time context.

I. INTRODUCTION 1. The Commission has before it the Application for Review (AFR) filed by Press Communications, LLC (Press) on November 9, 2015.1 Press seeks review of a Media Bureau (Bureau) decision that (a) approved a Consent Decree providing for the short-term renewal of the license of WAJM(FM), Atlantic City, New Jersey (Station), which is licensed to the Board, (b) denied a Press Petition to Deny (Petition) WAJM’s 2010 license renewal application (2010 Application), (c) approved a minor modification of the license of that Station, and (d) dismissed Press’s conflicting application (Press Application) for minor modification of the license of WBHX(FM), Tuckerton, New Jersey, which was premised on Press’s argument that WAJM’s license had expired on June 1, 2006 and was accordingly not entitled to spacing protection from the Press modification proposal.2 For the reasons stated below, we deny the AFR.

www.app.com | Printer-friendly article page Page 1 of 1 January 19, 2009 Proud NJ radio station is No. 1 By MAUREEN NEVIN DUFFY Arbitron Inc. issued its latest quarterly listener ratings for the fall (October, November, and December of 2008), on Jan. 8, and once again Millennium Radio's WKXW-FM, better known as NJ101.5 — "Not New York, not Pennsylvania, but New Jersey" — is No. 1 in Monmouth and Ocean counties with a fall rating of 7.6, which is up form the Fall '07 rating of 7.2. NJ101.5 is home to Jim Gearhart, the morning drive personality who gets everyone's blood boiling with the latest rant against Jersey politics, The Jersey Guys, Casey Bartholomew and Ray Rossi, who banter away like high school jocks in the afternoon and often made headlines last year, and Big Joe Henry, whose weekend shows attract a supersize following. Radio Somewhere wrote this report within 24 hours of Arbitron's post. We'll try to get more details as to how different time slots at the stations figured in the ratings when we get those breakdowns. We also invite stations to weigh in on their interpretations of the survey results. The others in the Top 10 are: 2. WWZY-FM Press Communications, which operates The Breeze 107.1 and 90.7 with a rating of 6.0, up from 4.3 in fall 2007. 3. WABC-AM Talk Radio 77, owned by Citadel, rose to 5.8 from 4.5. 4. WFAN-AM CBS's Sports Radio got a 3.9, down from 4.4 in '07.
