According to Osborne, Gabet will be missed in the halls of Leo after his retirement at the end of this year. “He is planning to retire at the end of this school year after 40 years of teaching at Leo and will be greatly missed by all staff and students,” said Osborne in her nomination letter. Osborne believes wholeheartedly that Gabet is deserving of this honor. “Besides being the EACS Secondary Teacher of the Year last year, he has been a co-leader in coordinating the amazing Christmas family fundraising drives, has organized all of the Homecoming activities for many years, has sponsored student council and class tourney for many years, and has organized countless American Red Cross blood drives here at Leo,” said Osborne in her nomination letter.
