EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE 2017 ELLYN DANIELS 'EMOTIONAL TERRORISM' Just The Big Room, Just The Tonic at The Caves, 3rd – 26th August (not 14th) at 9pm Introducing Ellyn Daniels, one of the most exhilarating American stand up comedians on the circuit, as she makes her debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August with her intoxicating new show ‘Emotional Terrorism’. ‘Emotional Terrorism’ is one woman stand-up show taking the audience on a powerful journey from Orlando to Togo, ballet to bulimia, the runways of Paris to blacking out in Hollywood mansions and sitting on the precipice of suicide to finding salvation through stand-up comedy. Daniels puts a hilarious spin on her unapologetic, soul-bearing tale of one girl’s journey from humiliation to liberation. Written and performed by Ellyn Daniel’s and directed by Desmond Devenish, ‘Emotional Terrorism’ will be performed nightly throughout the festival at 9pm at Just The Big Room at Just The Tonic at the Caves. Tickets are on sale now! Emotional Terrorism will have its US debut at the Hollywood Fringe, Los Angeles largest performing arts festival, in June this year. Information can be found here at www.hollywoodfringe.org. Having trained as a ballet dancer and danced professionally in her late teens and early twenties, Ellyn was scouted by a modeling agent in Paris at the age of 17 and has subsequently worked as a model in Paris, Milan, New York, Tokyo, Hamburg, Los Angeles, Barcelona and Madrid. When modeling took her to LA, Ellyn caught the acting and stand-up comedy bug and has been working on the international circuit in Los Angeles, New York, Spain and the UK since, drawing on many of the experiences she’s had throughout her extensive travels in her writing, acting and stand-up comedy. As an actress Ellyn has appeared on Oxygen’s ‘Funny Girls’, ABC’s ‘The Forgotten’ and in the hit web- series, ‘Kiss Her I’m Famous’. Most recently she co-created, produced, directed and starred in the original comedy series, ’30, Debt-Free & Far From Happy’ which premiered at the 2016 New York Television Festival. For too many years she has been known as just Nelson's mistress, a bit of a harlot (you get one job in a brothel and bang goes your reputation). Women's lib wasn't a thing in Georgian times. Emma moved mountains to haul herself from scullery maid to Lady Hamilton ... and yes, she occasionally danced naked on tables to get ahead in life, but who hasn't? As a fellow naked dancer on tables, Shappi raises a glass to the woman England betrayed.
