Additional district judge Vidya Sagar Pandey issued the warrant against the Ru- pauli MLA and her two aides — Mahavir Mandal and Motka Awadhesh, who have been booked for the murder of Chanchal Paswan. A case in this regard was lodged on May 6, 2005. Ms. Bharti is the wife of gangster Awadhesh Mandal who is currently in the district jail. Earlier, a sessions court had rejected her anti- cipatory bail petition. Complainant Sonia Devi had charged the JD(U) MLA, who is also a former State Minister, of instigat- ing six others to kill her husband Chanchal Paswan. The accused had been booked under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) and 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and Sec- tion 27 of the Arms Act.
