Member’s Annual Report 2018/2019 This is the report by the Councillor below regarding his key activities over the year ending 31 March 2019. It is provided for the information of all constituents and for no other purpose. The views expressed in this report are those of the Councillor and they do not necessarily reflect the views of the Isle of Anglesey County Council. Councillor: Eric Wyn Jones Party: Anglesey Independents Ward: Bro Rhosyr 1 - Role & Responsibilities Between April 2018 and March 2019, I sat Attendance Summary on the following main committees / sub- committees: Democratic Services Committee Details on the Council’s website: Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust Committee Attendance Isle of Anglesey County Council Licensing Committee Planning and Orders Committee Regeneration Committee The above list does not include all meetings related to the work of the Council. Attendance levels may vary due to the nature of work and responsibilities of members - as portfolio holder, committee chair or representing the Council on outside bodies, for example. I am a member of the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust. I am also a member of the Trust’s Investment and Contracts Committee – details of my attendance at these meetings are also available on the above link. I represent the Council on the following outside bodies: Outside Body Summary of role and contribution See: Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Joint Advisory Committee (Ynys Môn) http://www.nwales- North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority fireservice.org.uk/fire- and-rescue- authority/?lang=en-gb North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority Executive Panel http://www.nwales- fireservice.org.uk/fire- and-rescue- authority/executive- panel/?lang=en-gb School Governor - Brynsiencyn Primary School School Governor - Esceifiog Primary School, Gaerwen 2 - Constituency Activity Once again, twelve months have flown by and it has been a busy year as a Councillor for Bro Rhosyr. Nothing much has changed in 2018-19 as I am still Shadow Portfolio Holder for Housing and find it very interesting. It also challenging for the officers and for us as Councillors trying our best for the people of Ynys Mȏn. There are several committees that I am appointed to, namely Democratic Services, Isle of Anglesey County Council, Licencing Committee, Regeneration and Planning & Orders Committee. I have taken part and made decisions on various applications that come in front of me. Hopefully, I have made the right decision that will be, and, has been of benefit to the people of Ynys Mȏn. 3 - Initiatives and Special Activities I am also appointed to outside bodies such as the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Joint Advisory Committee looking into various projects that are of benefit to the habitat and nature in general on Ynys Mȏn. Other outside bodies I am a member of is the North Wales Fire & Rescue Authority and also their Executive Panel in making decisions and the right way forward for this most important Authority. I am a School Governor at Brynsiencyn Primary School and Esceifiog Primary in Gaerwen. Once again, as a School Governor in both primaries has been very challenging especially when it comes to school closures and the threat of losing our school. We appointed various teachers for both schools, with a new Headmaster for Brynsiencyn and with very little time has transformed the school bringing harmony into the workplace. It is an honour and a privilege to be a School Governor for Brynsiencyn and Esceifiog. Both our grandchildren attend Brynsiencyn Primary School gaining first class tuition and the same applies for Gaerwen where the standard is first class in all ways. 4 - Learning and Development Information about the learning and development initiatives I have attended during the past year is available here (information supplied by the Isle of Anglesey County Council): http://democracy.anglesey.gov.uk/mgListTraining.aspx?UID=913&RPID=380724&LL L=0 5 - Other Activities and Issues So all in all, 2018-19 has been a busy year for me, taking phone calls and emails from my constituents. I’ve also dealt with communication from outside my jurisdiction pointing and helping people to the relevant officers at Ynys Mȏn. I am also a member of Llanidan and Llanddaniel Community Councils, as well as Esceifiog and Llangristiolus. I do hope that I serve you well as I enjoy my role as a County Councillor and a real pleasure of representing my good people and all the good people of Ynys Mȏn in general.
