Ungdoms Forhold Til Nyheter En Studie Basert På Mediedagbok Nordicom-Information 35 (2013) 1-2, pp. 3-20 Ungdoms forhold til nyheter En studie basert på mediedagbok Dag Elgesem & Linda Elen Olsen Abstract Ungdom i dag bruker nyhetsmedier i vesentlig mindre grad enn tidligere, viser tall for Norges Statistiske Sentralbyrå. Keywords: ungdom, nyheter, nyhetsbruk, mediedagbok, sosiale medier Innledning Som i alle andre land skjer det store teknologiske og strukturelle endringer i det norske medielandskapet. I likhet med andre bidragsytere til det Schrøder og Larsen treffende kaller ”den kulturelle vendingen mot demokratiets mikrodynamikk” (2010, s. 526), mener Jones at medienes rolle i borgernes forhold til 4 Dag Elgesem & Linda Elen Olsen det politiske er mye mer kompleks enn bare å formidle informasjon: ”citizenship is now partly constituted by and through media, and (..) such mediation is central to understand- ing the citizen’s relationship to the state.” News thus appears to be caught up in an irresolvable paradox: when news is presented in a serious and sound way, it is perceived as the real thing but, apart from natural or man-made disasters, usually considered too boring to watch. When news is made more appealing and accessible, ratings are higher, but it is no longer perceived as news. We interpret this seemingly illogical viewing behavior with reference to the conviction of most young people, as we discovered through our interviews, that news is, or should be, a basic social service, comparable to social security, health insurance, or family care: you have to be able to rely on its availability when you need it, preferably free of charge, around the clock and seven days a week. This function as basic (public) service explains the discre- pancy between high appreciation of news and low viewer ratings. Such ratings do not say anything about the significance attached by young viewers to a good public news supply. By contrast, high ratings perhaps tell us something about the program’s entertaining character but they are not a reliable standard for measuring its importance.

Abstract A national collection was launched in the 1920s to raise money for purchasing Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson’s home and turn it into a national property.

Henrik Ibsen’s Adapted by Jon Robin Baitz “People---don’t do such things” – Judge Brack, page 77 UCOR 1000 Spring Quarter 2014 Andrew Ryder, Director Nicole Song, Dramaturg Tuesday, March 18, 2014 Concept: Tragedy and Realism Hedda Gabler has to some extent defied audiences from its first performance. The play—and its title character—defy us to find something likable about her, something valuable about her, something that justifies her continued existence on this earth when she’s so “bored.” All of the characters surrounding her are shocked at her final act, even the world-weary and cosmopolitan Judge Brack. His practical mind cannot understand why she would give up on the opportunities right in front of her—including his offer of an affair or alliance of some kind. And yet, Hedda and her play defy us in the opposite direction as well. How can we not, Ibsen seems to say, care what happens to this strong, damaged, determined, frightened, powerful, cowering woman/little girl? For she must, I believe, garner our sympathy. There are directors who make her completely unlikable, focusing primarily on the evils of the society which puts her in such an untenable position. I certainly agree that society is responsible for Hedda’s demise, but that is precisely why I feel for her. It’s not about guilt or blame, but about the structures of her world: a tantalizing mix of encouragements and dead ends. Ibsen points the way forward here to Arthur Miller’s 20th-century tragedies of society, where the central character may be destroyed because “he had the wrong dream.” Ibsen’s social commentary is not quite so clear-cut.

  • The Cambridge Companion to Ibsen
In the history of modern theatre Ibsen is one of the dominating figures. His conquest of the theatre over the past hundred years - first in Scandinavia, and then very quickly in Europe, North America and the wider world - makes him one of the most frequently performed playwrights in the world today. The sixteen chapters of this Companion, contributed by a distinguished international team, explore Ibsen's life and work, providing an invaluable reference work for students of drama and of literature. In chronological terms they range from an account of Ibsen's earliest pieces, written during the 1850s when he was a young producer in Bergen, through the years of rich experiment- ation when he sought - in historical tragedy, in verse comedy, in dramatic poetry, in philosophical drama - to find his own style and dramatic idiom, to the mature 'Ibsenist' plays that made him famous towards the end of the nineteenth century. Among the thematic topics explored here are Ibsen and comedy, Ibsen and the realistic problem play, and Ibsen and feminism. Another little-known aspect of his art - his achievement as a lyric poet - is given close attention. Two chapters account for the spread of Ibsen's influence on the international stage to the end of the nineteenth century and to the present; three related chapters, including an interview with John Barton and an essay by Arthur Miller, address the challenge that Ibsen's plays continue to present to theatre directors and to the practising dramatists of today, as well as to those who work in film and television.
