Secretary – Brothers Rugby Club 4 BROTHERS RUGBY CLUB ANNUAL REPORT 2019 PRESIDENT’S REPORT It is with a sense of pride and satisfaction that I provide on behalf of the Board and management my second Annual Report. This year’s many accomplishments adds to our rich 114 year history of 161 premierships across all grades, 28 First Grade premierships - more than any other club - 254 Qld representatives including 26 Captains, 4 Australian Club Champions and we have had 87 Australian representatives across men’s and women’s including 13 National Team Captains. We acknowledge and commend; Our expanding activities and continued successes built on the work done by our selfless and hardworking players, volunteers and staff, along with the continued generous support and goodwill of our members, supporters and our local community. The Board for their tireless efforts throughout 2019. They continue to ‘walk the talk” and contribute to building on our governance policies, financial sustainability and enhanced operational practices. I would especially like to extend a special appreciation to departing Board Members Helen Negri and Andrew Brodie for their outstanding efforts over the past 2 and 4 years respectively. Although stepping down from the Board, Andrew and Helen will continue to be engaged with the club in various capacities. Our many business partners and sponsors for their continued loyalty and generous support. Without this support we would not be able to provide the numerous sporting programs that make our club a leader within the Brisbane competition. In particular; I would like to thank Dwight and Tonja Ferguson - Ray White Ascot, Faran Gouldson, - Gouldson Legal, Rohrig Group, Chubb, FIIG, BOQ Albany Creek and Hyundai who have all made significant contributions throughout the year. We have over 30 partners and although there are too many to name individually, we sincerely appreciate you all and look forward to working with you all again in 2020. The Club’s Strategic Plan and the business plans that support each of the Three Pillars; Sporting, Economic & Community. These practical and measurable plans continue to provide the guiding path for all of the Club’s subcommittees and major event committees. It is every chairpersons goal to ensure that we work diligently to consolidate and build on our past achievements, while continuing to fine-tune these plans to ensure that our strategies and action plans remain relevant and achievable. That we now have 35 Life Members, 783 Volunteer Members and 298 Financial Members. It is our intention with your help to increase the number of Supporter Members by introducing a simpler online membership portal for renewal of 2020 memberships. The hard work of the Touch Committee lead by Touch Coordinator, Jodie Clarke & Carla Clayton. Their sterling efforts continue to contribute to the growth of all of our Senior and Junior Touch programs with more than 1200 players now registered, representing an increase of >15% on 2018. Our Club Secretary Graeme Linklater for his leadership and consistent endeavors to improve our Board governance and operating procedures and for his significant efforts in compiling, with the assistance of Anthony McDermott, the Club’s Annual Report. The tireless efforts of our newly appointed Rugby Programs Coordinator, Manuel Cole-Manolis.

  • John Eales AM
John Eales AM Former Wallabies Captain, author and business leader John Eales is one of Australia’s all-time rugby greats. He took part in two successful World Cup campaigns; captained the Wallabies in memorable victories including the 1999 World Cup; led Australia through three Bledisloe Cup series wins and two successful seasons of Tri-Nations fixtures. He also led the Wallabies to the first-ever defeat of the British and Irish Lions. In his career, John played 20 tests against the All Blacks winning 11 of them. In that time, he was captain for 11 of those tests against the All Blacks, winning six, including six of his last seven tests against them. But John Eales is a man whose outstanding qualities extend much further than his exceptional skill on the football field. He is an inspirational leader and businessman through both his actions and his relentless determination. John’s sense of fair play and genial nature made him one of the most respected figures in the game, and an extraordinary ambassador for sport and Australia. An in-demand keynote speaker for corporate events, lunches and after-dinner functions, the messages John delivers are invaluable. He inspires and instructs by focusing on the importance of coaching, composure and culture within corporations and the necessity for faith in the abilities of team members, particularly in times of change, in order to remain composed in the face of aggressive competition. More about John Eales: In a career that spanned 10 years, John Eales played a total of 86 Tests for Australia, captaining them on 55 occasions and accumulating 173 test points, making him the highest-scoring forward in the history of rugby.

HOMER Exercise and Muscle Biology software was utilized for Next-Gen sequencing analysis. RESULTS: We utilized a bioinformatics approach to identify Tcap as a skeletal muscle specific, circadian gene. Friday, June 2, 2017, 1:00 PM ‑ 3:00 PM Interestingly, we found that MYOD1 transactivates Tcap in a synergistic fashion with Room: 201 BMAL1:CLOCK and enhances T-cap’s circadian amplitude.
