Flea Market Good News and Thank You Good news - the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Flea Market at St. Mary of the Assumption was a spectacular success. We still have money coming so we are not able to give a final total but so far we have just over $36,000 – a new record!! Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the volunteers and parishioners who donated goods and time to the OLPH Flea Market at St. Mary’s. We had over 100 volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the Flea Market a success. We can’t say enough about our outstanding teenage volunteers. They represented our Church by assisting customers in a careful and cheerful way that is a credit to their upbringing and our Church community. Anytime we asked for help Our Parish Ministries came through, and we are so grateful for their contributions. Our Volunteers are the backbone of the Flea Market and we are so very thankful and proud of them. Unsold goods went to the following: 1. The St. Vincent De Paul Society 2. Goodwill 3. Light Of Life Mission and Red Door received goods for distribution to the homeless 4. Genesis took the remaining baby furniture, supplies, children’s books, and toys to assist women in crisis pregnancies 5. Frankie Friends Feline Rescue, Paws Across Pittsburgh, and St. John’s County Animal Center received torn blankets and towels to use for injured and sick animals 6. Unsold purses, jewelry, and other items went to the Repurposed Store that supports female trafficking victims 7. Medical supplies were donated to the Brothers Brother Foundation 8. We supplied bingo gifts and craft materials to Vincentian and Concordia. Additional items went to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help CCD dollar sale 9. Days for Girls took fabrics and other items to send to Third World Women’s Groups 10. Habitat for Humanity took household items and furniture 11.
