Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to gain an understanding of the basics needed to get around in the new Windows 8 user interface. The workshop will focus on experiencing all this operating system can do and leveraging it to streamline the working environment. Using Office 365 and OneDrive — MSFTODO3FTF01D This workshop will focus on using Office 365 for productivity and collaboration. Participants will be introduced to Office 365 and learn how to access and navigate. The remainder of the training will focus on utilizing OneDrive to manage files and work collaboratively. Participants will learn how to use both the online and desktop versions of Microsoft Office programs in conjunction with OneDrive. Microsoft Windows Apps for Productivity and Creativity in the Classroom — MSFTWAPCFTF01D Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to explore apps, learn to download and install apps, and use a variety of apps in a sample lesson. Participants will then create a model lesson plan integrating a variety of the apps they have selected to use. TEACHER FOCUS Using OneNote and Office 365 — MSFTONO3FTF01D Educators will learn about the powerful uses of OneNote using Microsoft Office 365. Participants will learn the basics to stay organized, create interactive lessons, deliver content, streamline workflows, and optimize the use of OneNote Class Notebook. Hands-on opportunities and reflection for teachers will be provided. Using Microsoft Sway to Foster Student Creativity and Engagement — MSFTSWAYFTF01D Sway is a free, device–agnostic tool created by Microsoft. The philosophy of Sway is to leave design work to the tool in order to let the user focus on content. This philosophy makes Sway a perfect learning tool. In this hands-on workshop, educators will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to learn how to use Sway with students for various curricular integrations. Office 365 for the Classroom (Prereq: Using Office 365 and OneDrive) — MSFT0365FTF01D Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to develop curriculum–specific activities involving the integration of Microsoft Office 365 in their classroom. Participants will explore several of the Office WebApps and how to use them with students to enhance learning and with teachers to increase collaboration in curriculum design. The workshop will focus on teachers developing techniques that work well with their curriculum, skill level, and teaching style. Learning with Visual Strategies in the Classroom with Microsoft Tools — MSFTLWVSFTF01D Learning with visual strategies is essential in today’s digital world. In this workshop, teachers will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to design and produce (or revise existing) products that they can use in their classrooms with Microsoft PowerPoint, Mix, and Sway. Microsoft Office Mix for PowerPoint; Making Instruction Xtraordinary — MSFTMIX1FTF01D This workshop focuses on a shift from “PowerPointlessness” to Power Pointedness using Office Mix. Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to learn how slide decks can be venues for mixes or videos that can include screen recordings, annotated screen captures, personalized content, and messages. These mixes can be uploaded to public or private spaces where viewing analytics are available. The focus with be on utilizing Office Mix with students. Teachers and Students are Authors using Microsoft and Online Tools — MSFTTSAAFTF01D Participants with work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to learn how to use collaborative textbooks and/or creative books with students. Participants will utilize Microsoft OneNote, open educational resources (OER), and other available materials to create a collaborative textbook. Using MS Products to Create and Present — MSFTP2CPFTF01D This workshop takes participants through some of the best Microsoft Office products (Sway, PowerPoint, and Word) to create wonderfully shareable artifacts and present ideas in ways that grab the attention of an audience. The underlying idea is that students need to be able to present their knowledge in ways that are clean, clear and pleasing to read and look at. Participants will walk away from this workshop with all the tools needed to help their students’ voices be heard and to teach them how to present their best selves. Designing and Creating Learning in a Digital Setting with Microsoft Tools - Advanced (Prereq: Using Office 365 and OneDrive) — MSFTDCDSFTF02D In this workshop, teachers will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to design and create lessons for students to learn in collaborative online and blended classrooms. Using software tools such as OneNote, OneNote Classroom, Mix, Excel Survey, and Word, teachers will create rich learning content for use in the emerging digital settings. ADMINISTRATOR FOCUS Leading Change in Challenging Times (Not Microsoft specific) — MSFTLCCTFTF01D Significant change brings both challenges and opportunities. Organizational and procedural changes may be rooted in intrinsic or external motivations, or a combination of both. Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to review research– based practices for leading change. Participants will share their own challenges and strategies for effectively leading change within a school district setting. Online digital tools for collaboration will be utilized. Getting the Most from Microsoft SharePoint 2013 — MSFTSHPTFTF01D Participants will work with an Educational Collaborators trainer to develop a clear understanding of how to use Microsoft SharePoint for communication and collaboration within and outside the classroom. This workshop will provide training for teachers on developing techniques that work well with their curriculum, meet their skill level, and support their teaching style.
