Special Guests to Announce 2016 Nfl Draft Picks SPECIAL GUESTS TO ANNOUNCE 2016 NFL DRAFT PICKS Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Recipients and Team Man of the Year Winners to Announce Round 3 Picks Hall of Famers, Medal of Honor Recipient, St. Jude Patient and Make-A-Wish Kid to Participate in Draft Celebrations The excitement of the 2016 NFL Draft continues as special guests participate in the Draft festivities by announcing various picks throughout the three day celebration. Thirty-two former players from the NFL Legends Community, one representing each team, will be featured in Round 2. Ten Pro Football Hall of Fame members will announce picks, including WILLIE BROWN, DICK BUTKUS, LARRY CSONKA, MARSHALL FAULK, MICHAEL IRVIN, ORLANDO PACE, BRUCE SMITH, WILL SHIELDS, LYNN SWANN and PAUL WARFIELD. For the first time, Round 3 Draft announcements will feature winners of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide, including national winners Carolina Panthers linebacker THOMAS DAVIS (2014) and former Kansas City Chiefs guard WILL SHIELDS (2003), as well as team winners. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes a player for his excellence on and off the field and represents the best of the NFL’s commitment to philanthropy and community impact. During Round 3, Chicago Bears 2010 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year team winner, defensive end ISRAEL IDONIJE, will announce the Bears’ pick alongside middle school students from Barton Elementary School in Chicago. Barton Elementary School students are participating in the new national education initiative focused on youth character development and healthy relationships, Character Playbook, which is funded by the NFL Foundation, United Way Worldwide and powered by EverFi. The interactive digital program will be implemented directly in schools in NFL team markets, starting immediately in 14 NFL markets and expanding to all 32 and surrounding communities over the next three years. Medal of Honor recipient, retired Staff Sgt. Salvatore "Sal" Giunta, will announce the Falcons’ Round 3 pick alongside Atlanta’s Man of the Year winner, fullback PATRICK DIMARCO, a strong supporter of our nation’s military servicemen and women. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital patient ANDREW WOODRUFF, 13, will join COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL to announce a pick during Round 3. Woodruff is a Seattle Seahawks fan and is being treated at St. Jude for Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Make-A-Wish recipient DANIEL HALIPERN, 16, will join Commissioner Goodell to announce the Denver Broncos first round pick. Halipern is a high school sophomore and Broncos fan from Denver, Colorado.     NEW YORK GIANTS 2012 SEASON RECAP The 2012 Giants finished 9-7 and in second place in the NFC East. It was the eighth consecutive season in which the Giants finished .500 or better, their longest such streak since they played 10 seasons in a row without a losing record from 1954-63. The Giants finished with a winning record for the third consecutive season, the first time they had done that since 1988-90 (when they were 10-6, 12-4, 13-3). Despite extending those streaks, they did not earn a postseason berth. The Giants lost control of their playoff destiny with back-to-back late-season defeats in Atlanta and Baltimore. They routed Philadelphia in their finale, but soon learned they were eliminated when Chicago beat Detroit. The Giants compiled numerous impressive statistics in 2012. They scored 429 points, the second-highest total in franchise history; the 1963 Giants scored 448. The 2012 season was the fifth in the 88-year history of the franchise in which the Giants scored more than 400 points. The Giants scored a franchise- record 278 points at home, shattering the old mark of 248, set in 2007. In their last three home games – victories over Green Bay, New Orleans and Philadelphia – the Giants scored 38, 52 and 42 points. The 2012 team allowed an NFL-low 20 sacks. The Giants were fourth in the NFL in both takeaways (35, four more than they had in 2011) and turnover differential (plus-14, a significant improvement over 2011’s plus-7). The plus-14 was the Giants’ best turnover differential since they were plus-25 in 1997.
