With the start of the 44th school year at Galloway just around the corner, The Galloway Alumni Association excitedly and officially welcomes its most recent graduates, the 43rd class of alumni, the Class of 2013. Our school continues to nurture each individual student Welcome by preparing them for their next chapter. This year’s class will be headed off to institutions ranging from West Point to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and locations from Athens, Ga., to Edinburgh, Scotland. We are so impressed with our graduates’ accomplishments and look forward to seeing them represent Galloway as they continue in their educational and professional pursuits. Galloway has established a legacy of exemplary students, thespians, and athletes who have gone on to serve as leaders in their community and work place. To honor those alumni and their endeavors that fulfill the Galloway mission of living as “enlightened citizens in a changing world,” we have established an annual alumni recognition award called ALUMinaries. Be on the lookout for our 2013-2014 announcement of the inaugural class of ALUMinaries and help us celebrate their accomplishments. I am a Pre-K teacher. I work with Jenny Lawsky to create the most fun learning experiences possible for our students. We learn about animals, dissecting owl pellets, and tobogganing like penguins. We “travel” to a different country each year. We practice phonemic awareness through rhymes, songs, and dance. We want our students et to love learning, love school, and establish great learning habits. Aside from lessons, a lot of my job is giving hugs, dancing, listening to knock- know2 knock jokes, and drawing—Pre-K is pretty fun!
