DISH Network Satellite Television Brings Local TV Channels to Eugene, Ore.

Littleton, Colo., Oct. 2, 2003 – EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) announced today that its DISH Network™, America's fastest growing subscription television service, now offers local TV channels by satellite television to Eugene, Ore. The following local TV channels are now offered: CBS Ch. 13 (KVAL), FOX Ch. 34 (KLSR), NBC Ch. 16 (KMTR), UPN Ch. 36 (KTVC) and PBS Ch. 28 (KEPB).

This is the first time local TV channels are available by satellite TV in the Eugene area, providing an alternative to local cable TV service. Local channels will be offered at a $1 per month discount to the regular price of $5.99 per month for DISH Network customers in Eugene until the local ABC station is added to the package. A Dish 500 antenna is required to receive the local channels via satellite.
