Chiodos and the band's new imprint drk/lght records in partnership with Razor & Tie launched this innovative digital pre-order initiative with individual videos for each of the songs hitting the Internet simultaneously to the tracks being made available to their significant fan base. The pre-order has delivered a chart position that has remained in the Top 200 at iTunes each week since the initiative began with "Why The Munsters Matter" and "Ole Fishlips Is Dead Now" on February 25. Subsequently "3AM," "Duct Tape," "Behvis Bullock" and now "Under Your Halo" have been released. The final week prior to the album's street date will see an additional six videos for the other compositions on the album premiered. Drummer Derrick Frost shares, "The idea of instant gratification tracks in my opinion is revolutionary. It not only keeps the listener engaged, but rewards them for supporting the artist as well. I'm extremely proud that we have been able to work with our partner Razor & Tie in initiating a campaign that super-serves our fans who have been waiting seven years for a new Chiodos record. The DEVIL DANCE TOUR 2014 will begin in Buffalo, NY on 4/15 at the Waiting Room, with ticketing options now live on www.chiodos.net . Prior, the band will stage six shows the week of release from April 1-6, where all tickets will be bundled with a copy of the April 1 release DEVIL. On March 29, Chiodos will appear at Punk Spring in Tokyo, Japan. The DEVIL DANCE TOUR 2014 will feature support acts Emarosa, Our Last Night, and 68 through May 5. On May 7, Hands Like Houses will be added to the bill, appearing on all dates through May 21. A complete list of confirmed appearances follows below. Moving forward, we have decided to publish two print issues annually (instead of three). At the same time, we have started a monthly electronic newsletter, “News Bites”. Our electronic newsletter will keep you up- to-date on a more frequent basis and includes videos and other regular columns not featured in Impressions. We have much to celebrate in this issue, including faculty members achieving major service anniversaries, new faculty leaders, and the story of how several of our faculty have made an academic career – a new career (story on page 16)! Dr. Day had the idea of being an academician for many years, eventually seeking out teaching courses to prepare her for the transition; for Dr. Zalewski, it meant pursuing an idea of being a teacher in his profession. Dr. Robin Hattervig took the leap after hosting fourth-year dental students in his practice, while Dr. Bokemper decided to “test the waters” before diving into a new career. Regardless of their journeys, we are delighted to have them on board and making significant contributions to our academic endeavors! Additionally, our teaching continues to evolve.

It is hardly necessary to tell our Irish readers that the Ballads and Songs, collected here, were originally published, from week to week, in The Nation newspaper, since its establishment in October, 1842. In March, 1843, we printed a little sixpenny book, containing the poems which had appeared in our paper up to that date. Last autumn a second part appeared. The success of the work was marvellous. It was seized on by Ireland's friends as the first bud of a new season, when manhood, union, and nationality, would replace submission, hatred, and provincialism. It was paraded by our foes as the most alarming sign of the decision and confidence of the national party, and, accordingly, they arraigned it in the press, in the meeting, in parliament, and, finally, put it on its trial with "the conspirators of Ireland." Its circulation was proportionate.

II BY EDWARD LUCAS WHITE DISAPPEARANCE CHAPTER X ESCAPE At Tibur I put up at a clean little inn I had known of since boyhood, but which I had never before entered or even seen, so that I felt safe there and reasonably sure to pass as a traveller of no rank whatever. My knowledge of country ways, too, enabled me to behave like a landed proprietor of small means. After a hearty lunch I pushed boldly on up the Valerian Highway and covered the twenty-two miles between Tibur and Carseoli without visibly tiring my mount. He was no more winded nor lathered than any traveller's horse should be at the end of a day on the road. At Carseoli I again knew of a clean, quiet inn, and there I dined and slept. Thence I intended to follow the rough country roads along the Tolenus. Stream-side roads are always bad, so I allowed two days more in which to reach home, and I could hardly have done it quicker. The night after I left Carseoli I camped by a tributary of the Tolenus in a very pretty little grove. From Carseoli on the weather was fine. About the third hour of the day, on the fifth day before the Kalends of September, of a fair, bright morning, I came to my own estate. On the road nearing it I had met no one. I met no one along the woodland tracks leading into my property from that side: on my estate I met no one save just as I was about to enter my villa.

However, in a bold move, the band’s debut will be a double CD set. Impact features 19 studio recordings, three acoustic performances and two live cuts of crowd favorites. The album will be released by Bulldog Productions, and distributed by Vertusent / RED. The origin of Eye Empire began in 2007 when Corey Lowery (Stuck Mojo/Stereomud/Dark New Day) and B.C. Kochmit (Switched) began to collaborate on songs. After a couple of years of writing and searching for the right voice, Donald Carpenter (Submersed) joined the group in October of 2009, followed by former Texas Hippie Coalition drummer Ryan Bennett. The band’s debut album runs the gamut of sounds from the aggressive opener “I Pray,” to the melodic crossover future smashes “More Than Fate,” and “Last One Home.” It’s clear upon one listen to Impact that Eye Empire knows how to write a hook and rock it out. There is a running theme through the album of “Love, Respect, Support,” and this philosophy has been the band’s operating mantra. Track one on Impac t, “I Pray” began receiving major airplay on SiriusXM’s Octane channel way before the band had even finished their album. Additionally multiple commercial radio stations across the country supported the track.
