As your Wars of the Roses chairs, Teo Lamiot and I have been working hard with our crisis director, Sofia Filippa, and SMUNC Secretariat members to make this conference the best yet. If you have attended SMUNC before, I promise that this year will be even more full of surprise and intrigue than your last conference; if you are a newcomer, let me warn you of how intensely fun and challenging this conference will assuredly be. Regardless of how you arrive, you will all leave better delegates and hopefully with a reinvigorated love for Model UN. My own love for Model United Nations began when I co-chaired a committee for SMUNC (The Arab Spring), which was one of my very first experiences as a member of the Society for International Affairs at Stanford (the umbrella organization for the MUN team), and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Later that year, I joined the intercollegiate Model United Nations team.

The History and Topography of the Isle of Axholme ... Lincolnshire Rev. William Brocklehurst Stonehouse, M.A.,1st January 1839 Overtown Miscellany (overtown.org.uk) WATERTON is mentioned in Doomsday Book, as having a hall and one carucate of land, the property of Fulcheri; and it is also stated that, at the time of making the survey, it was waste. Together with all the wastes in the soke of Croule, it became, [p.446] became soon after the Conquest, the property of the Abbot of Selby; and, between the years 1160 and 1179, when Gilbert was Abbot of that monastery, it was called a vil, and given by him to Reiner, the son of Norman de Normanby, he paying the yearly rent of twelve shillings on the Feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary(1). What equivalent was given for this grant does not appear; nor has any other notice of this Reiner been found. Waterton remained in this family for many generations, and seems to have been, like High Melwood and High Burnham, what Hunter terms, in his History of the Deanery of Doncaster, "a Gentlehomery, having peculiar privileges and jurisdiction." Like these places, however, it is now degraded into a common farm house. The present owner is Sir John Webb. Reiner took the name of Waterton. This family is equal, if not superior, in a long line of ancestry, to most of the commoners of England : for there is strong reason to suppose that they were of Saxon origin. It appears, in the survey made by the Conqueror, in 1086, that one Liyulf held lands in Normanebi, in the North Riding of Yorkshire; that Norman had lands in Newuetone; and amongst the clamores, or claims, noticed in the same survey, it is stated, that Norman de Andreci claimed three oxgangs of land in Normanbi.

Rear Admiral Dennis Royle Farquharson Cambell, C.B., D.S.C. X7225 Dennis Cambell married Dorothy in 1933 and they remained happily in love and the best of companions for the next 67years! They have two daughters, six grandchildren and, to date, 6 great grandsons: Cal, Finn, Gabe, Alfie, Jonah and Cormac. His early years Dennis was born on 13 November 1907 in Southsea the eldest of four children. His parents, Dr Archibald Cambell (August 1880-December 1934) and Edith Farquharson Roberts (September 1881-November 1969) were married in 1906 and spent all their married life in Spencer Road, Southsea. Neville Kenneth Cambell was born in April 1911, Katharine in July 1913 and Brian in April 1919. All three sons joined the Fleet Air Arm, and Kay won a scholarship to read languages at Cambridge. In DRFC's formative years, his best friend was Alec Cook whose family lived around the corner from Spencer Road. (This friendship is still continued today by DRFC's younger and Alex's youngest daughter who have remained close friends since childhood. Although both women are in their fifties they date their friendship back 85 years!) DRFC went to Westminster School in 1921 where his form master was the forbidding Ernest Long Fox.At the end of his first term this man wrote on DRFC's report "the boy seems a perfect fool and incapable of learning anything". Fox was clearly not as perceptive as he was morose! Family Memories Of Neville, Kay says "Neville as a small boy was made a boarder at a nearby prep school because my father got very tired of dragging a reluctant child to school everyday.

Pepin shown standing Pepin le Bref Baldwin II, Margrave of Flanders 2 Continental Ancestors Before Hastings Saints, nuns, bishops, brewers, dukes and even kings among them David Anderson March 12, 2016 Abstract Early on, our motivation for studying the ancestors of the Chicago Rodger’s was to determine if, according to rumor, they are descendants of any of the Scottish Earls of Bothwell. We relied mostly on two resources on the Internet: Ancestry.com and Scotlandspeople.gov.uk. We have been subscribers of both. Finding the ancestral lines connecting the Chicago Rodger’s to one or more of the Scottish Earls of Bothwell was the most time consuming and difficult undertaking in generating the results shown in a later book of this series of three books. It shouldn’t be very surprising that once we found Earls in Scotland we would also find Kings and Queens, which we did. The ancestral line that connects to the Earls of Bothwell goes through Helen Heath (1831-1902) who was the mother and/or grandmother of the Chicago Rodger’s She was the paternal grandmother of my grandfather, Alfred Heath Rodger. Within this Heath ancestral tree we found four lines of ancestry without any evident errors or ambiguities. Three of those four lines reach just one Earl of Bothwell, the 1st, and the fourth line reaches the 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
