Actors, performers, authors are going to be rewarded. As the President of the 2017 Jury, I'm happy to take part in this prestigious event and let the best ones win!!!” %CVJGTKPG&GPGWXG That France offers another way of experiencing culture in the world is your doing, dear artists. May you be honoured for it! “I used to make short films before photography swept me away. As a musician and film producer, I have only the highest esteem for each artistic universe. Creativity, boldness and excellence are the fruits which our Nation lovingly grows, hearkening back to Voltaire and establishing itself as the nation of freedom and expression of the arts. What a delight it is to revel in passions brought alive – may originality keep indifference forever at bay Celebrating such disciplines as literature, theatre, cinema and fashion, is also a way of acknowledging the power of attraction which France, the Nation of Lights, continues to enjoy. Actors, authors, directors, and many other unofficial ambassadors of all things "made in France", will take to the glittering legendary stage of the Lido, for a single evening dedicated to today's most promising talents and those who have earned the public's regard. Over the years, The Globes du Cristal have become an institution. With its judging panel of sharp, eloquent minds on the fore of the cultural scene, chaired this year by iconic French figure Ms Catherine Deneuve... The stage is set for the 11th Awards Ceremony to meet with all the success it deserves.” 1NKXKGT&CUUCWNV Ever since its inception, the Globes de Cristal Awards have been a major event rewarding the whole world of French arts and culture. Always on the cutting edge of trends and diversity, this year's 11th edition is now broadening its scope internationally with 2 new categories: foreign motion picture and foreign television series. On Monday, January 30th, 2017, talented artists from the world of arts and culture, well-known figures, partners will get together at the legendary Le Lido in Paris to show their support for this ceremony. Injured, Paul deserts. Louise decides to hide him dressed as a woman. He soon becomes “Suzanne” a Parisian celebrity in the Roaring 20’s. When granted amnesty, he is challenged to live as a man again. A Dream Come True for Historians by Fabrice Virgili and Danièle Voldman While doing some scholarly work at the Paris police archives, we stumbled across the extraor- dinary story of Paul and Louise, two young people who fell in love in early twentieth-century Paris. When war was declared in July 1914, Paul was mobilized and sent to the front. What then followed was, to say the least, a baroque adventure that could not help but interest André Téchiné, who in 1976 directed the intriguing Barocco. The couple found separation difficult, and Paul could not take the fighting, horror and carnage. Wounded, he deserted and escaped back to Louise. And thus began their ‘golden’ years, escaping the military authorities who were hunting down failed patriots. Paul the deserter disguised himself as a woman and, for ten years, until a general amnesty was declared, Paul became Suzanne and lived as a flapper with Louise.
