Green, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute as a representative of the “Human Genome Project” (PMA in the field of Medicine) and Professor Porter W. Anderson, Jr., Dr. John B. Robbins, Dr. Rachel Schneerson, Professor Mathuram Santosham (PMA in the field of Public Health), the Prince Mahidol Award Laureates 2017, to visit Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, the host and founder of Prince Mahidol Award (PMA), and to deliver the special lectures demonstrating their rewarded contributions at the Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, Srisavarindhira Building. On this occasion, the Laureates joined the Faculty Luncheon hosted by Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with Siriraj Faculty members and Prince Mahidol Award’s Committees at the Faculty Conference room, Administration Building. 2 VOL19.indd 2 6/20/18 9:39 PM SIMPIC 2018 The 7th Siriraj International Medical Microbiology, Parasitology and Immunology Competition (SIMPIC 2018) On March 16th, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided over the 7th Siriraj International Medical Microbiology, Parasitology and Immunology Competition (SIMPIC 2018) at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. SIMPIC is an international platform for medical students to challenge themselves, get to know each others, and find inspiration. It is also a competition for medical students around the world who have an interest in infectious medicine, and have preferably finished their preclinical microbiology, immunology, and parasitology courses. In this year of SIMPIC, we would like to congratulate Universitas Gadjah Mada, Team 1, Indonesia on the first prize of the competition. Moll, a visiting scholar of Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital held a discussion on “Experience for Journal Editor” for Siriraj Medical Journal (SMJ) at Siriraj Medical Research Center. 5 VOL19.indd 5 6/20/18 9:39 PM Memorandum of Understanding MOU between Siriraj and Jiangsu Province Hospital, China On March 28th, 2018, Siriraj executive members led by Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital visited Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM, PRC. The group received a very warm welcome by Professor Zhai Yuxiang, Party Secretary and team. The MOU highlights the collaboration in the fields of education, research and academic services between Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University and Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM. On this occasion, we are honored to have Ms. Ranoppun Kapitta, Acting Consul General from Royal Thai Consulate-General, Shanghai witnessed the signing ceremony ! Siriraj Signed MOU with Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, China On March 28th, 2018, Siriraj executive members led by Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital visited Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital. The group received a very warm welcome by Dr. HAN Guangshu, President and team. The MOU was signed and committed both institutes to working together towards academic and educational exchange for mutual benefits. MOU Signing Ceremony between Siriraj and Johnson & Johnson on the Establishment of Center of Excellence in Minimal Invasive Surgery! We are delighted to announce that we’ve signed the MOU with Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical company to work together on the establishment of the so called “Center of Excellence in Minimal Invasive Surgery”!!! The MOU has been signed on March 7th, 2018 by Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Mr. Vaibhav Saran, Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson, Thailand & Emerging territories.
