From Barton he was hired as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee, compiling an 18-20 record over two seasons with the Blue Raiders. At MT, Ginn helped produce three All- Sun Belt Conference selections and one Freshman of the Year honoree.

After leaving Middle Tennessee, he stayed in the state, work- Delaina McGee ing as the Director of Coaching and Player Development at the Stones River Futbol Club in Smyrna. Ginn then made his longest stop in his coaching career, spending seven seasons from 2003-09 as the head coach at Mars Hill (N.C.) College. At Mars Hill, he was responsible for all aspects of the program. Three time,s he guided a rookie to freshman of the year laurels, while also seeing seven all- conference honorees and four all-region selections.
