Itinerary: a) A-B From highway Firenze-Pisa E76 to Airfield: exit at Altopascio then take on the right to Cerbaia then Callone Street, Europa Street, S.Provinciale SP15 Bientina and then Via Bientinese SP3. About 6 Km and 10 min. driving from Altopascio. CONTEST RULES Participation: The contest is open to all Aeromodellers holding a valid FAI license/FAI ID for the year 2018, that will be checked by the FAI Sporting licenses DB and to be shown if requested at the registration together with a valid personal insurance against third parties damages or injuries. Rules and regulations: According to the FAI Sporting Code, Sect. 4 Volume F1 Free Flight Model Aircraft and Vol. FAI General Rules – Edition 2018 and applicable amendments. Results will be provisional up to confirmation by the World Cup Management and Aero Club of Italy, Non EU citizens: For the release of required immigration visa an invitation letter can be provided under request. Field rules: The airfield is under Military Authorities jurisdiction and made available to the organizer for the competition. All competitors, helpers and supporters are therefore requested to comply with any instruction which may be issued by those authorities. Crossing cultivated fields must be limited to models recovery only, taking care to avoid crop damages. Forbidden, any use of motor means or vehicles into those areas, disqualification in case of infringement. Vehicles are not allowed therefore to cross the flying field. Parking area: Cars, caravans and others vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area at all time. The access to the field will not be allowed unless permitted by the organizer. Camping : Camping will not be possible and not allowed at the field or nearby areas. Limited quantity of campers might be parked in designated areas closed to the city of Altopascio with local police permission. Refreshing and meals: Food stand for refreshments and snacks will be available at the flying field. What are the possibilities that can contribute to its development? To what extent can man force a landscape without risking defacing it? Are there any unusual interventions capable of determining and changing the fate of the place itself? The dialogue between natural landscape and anthropization, the set of transformation and alteration interventions that man carries out on the territory to adapt it to his own interests and needs, does not always become reconcilable. Often the effects are ecologically harmful in terms of irreversible modification of the environment as in the cases of deforestation, of certain agricultural or industrial plants and the unbridled construction of housing units. However, there are ethical and virtuous examples in which human intervention takes on new connotations as a function of development models regarding renewable energy, ecological transport, management of natural resources or production and eco-sustainable construction. In this perspective, Silvia Camporesi's research on the limits of photography led her to study, investigate and elaborate three radical and very specific interventions on the environment with the ultimate aim of shedding light on as many completely different contexts, but united by the particularities with which they were created, transformed or abandoned. Brief Description This research (Rovai et al. 2013) focuses on soil consumption, relevance of open spaces and the role of ecosystem services (ES)1 assessment, building upon previous research carried out to support the planning department of the Province of Lucca (Tuscany, Italy) in developing the Territorial Coordination Plan (Rovai et al. 2013). More specifically, a multidimensional assessment of the value of ES provided by peri-urban agriculture in the agricultural plain of Lucca is developed and integrated by a cartographic representation of their spatial distribution. The visualisation of open spaces and ES aims at supporting a territorial strategy that contains land consumption and abandonment. Open spaces around urban centres, such as Lucca city or Capannori, have been exploited for the development of new settlements, encouraged by land construction rents and the loss of agricultural production value. In recent years, thanks to a new cultural sensitivity, the use of open spaces for building purposes – in particular agricultural soils – is increasingly criticized as a waste of natural resources (when not justified by population increase or production activities). From a territorial planning perspective, it is fundamental to “valorise” (i.e. assign a value to) available open space and rural land, in order to strengthen public sensitivity on the importance of open spaces and rural territory and ensure the reproduction of resources and functions.

    PIANA DI LUCCA, ITALY: CIRCULARIFOOD #citytocity #territory #foodstrategy #europe THE ACTION AND ITS AIMS: In 2018 five municipalities in the Piana di Lucca territory – Capannori, Altopascio, Lucca, Porcari, and Villa Basilica – cooperated in a participatory process called Circularifood, in order to create an inter-municipal food strategy. WHY IT WAS NEEDED: In order to develop, adopt and implement the joint Food Plan for the Piana di Lucca 2019-2023, the municipalities had to combine resources, competencies and understanding of the needs of their population. The process followed the municipalities’ signature of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (Lucca and Capannori) and was the first step towards fulfilling their commitment to developing sustainable food systems. WHO INITIATED IT, WHO IS INVOLVED: The action was led by the municipality of Capannori. The Circularifood process, which began in June 2018, involved the mapping of all active food stakeholders in the territory. Citizens and groups of interest then participated in a series of 10 workshops and focus groups. OUTCOME/HOW IT STRENGTHENED COORDINATION: The participatory process culminated in the creation of an inter-municipal food strategy and food council for La Piana di Lucca. The food strategy aims to build integrated policy on agriculture, social health services, education, the environment, and territorial and economic planning, that places the creation of a sustainable local food system at Olives on a market in Lucca (Italy), Shutterstock/Francesco de the centre of the public action. It consists of a political and organisational part, the Assembly of Mayors for Local Food Policies, and a participative part, the Council, made up of citizens, NGOs and the third sector that meet every six months at the Food Agorà.
