Today's younger professionals want to make a statement about who they are. They want to show that they care about their surroundings, that they are achieving their goals. When they leave the maelstrom of activity each night and return to their apartments and homes, they are seeking a peaceful haven, they want a refuge from nerve-wracking stimuli. They want to return to the luxurious world of their own individuality.
Avery Boardman creates sofas, sofa beds, and custom upholstery that meet these high standards by making them one at a time. This company is the oldest firm in the world manufacturing and selling sofa beds exclusively to the design community. My philosophy is, “Being the biggest isn't as important as being the best. I think customers understand the difference and are willing to pay more for an individually-crafted piece of furniture. That's why our entire manufacturing operation promotes individuality.”
I spend whatever amount of time necessary to insure that the style, the design, the comfort of each piece is perfect. At our headquarters in New Jersey, every employee has to sign off on every facet of his work. That means every cutter, every woodworker, every upholsterer has a sense of individual pride.
Our pieces are constructed with kiln-dried hardwood frames that are doweled, glued and installed with the finest mechanism ever designed to house the high-coil count, inner-spring mattress. Our workmen are craftsmen who have the expert knowledge to work with down-and-feather, spring-and-down, and foam-and-down. Every step is a high-quality effort. The result is that our furniture has a look and feel that separates it from all the others.
