Lampiran A: Booth Tugas Akhir LAMPIRAN A: BOOTH TUGAS AKHIR xxx LAMPIRAN B: Transkrip Wawancara Penerbit Pada awalnya Bu Retno sudah menjelaskan mengenai teknis perancangan buku pada lampiran yang diberikannya dalam bentuk hardcopy. 1. Kemampuan Beli SES menengah atas itu berkisar harga berapa dan berkisar buku yang seperti apa? Menengah keatas buku-buku sekitar harga Rp. 50.000 hingga Rp. 60.000 maksimal untuk softcover. Untuk hardcover mungkin Rp. 100.000-125.000 keatas masih laku. Namun perhatikan psikologi setiap orang pembelinya juga penting, style biasanya preferensi, penting untuk mencari data tambahan. 2. Apakah ada preferensi dari Bu Retno mengenai ukuran buku ilustrasi untuk umur 7-12 tahun seperti apa? Apakah besar atau kecil serta jumlah halamannya? Sebaiknya menggunakan font san-serif, font ditengah-tengah, jangan terlalu kecil atau besar ukurannya tapi tetap proporsi ilustrasi yang lebih banyak. Teknik binding dibawah 46 halaman pakai kawat saja. Pakai HVS 80 gsm untuk gambar yang berwarna, kira-kira 24 halaman saja dan pakai hardcover karena mengandung cerita kepahlawanan dan kalau bisa pakai jaket buku agar sifatnya long-last, karena untuk dibaca berkali-kali. Ukuran buku boleh dalam 18x24 cm, 19x23 cm, 15x23 cm, bebas, dan orientasi boleh landscape juga, biasanya untuk ilustrasi yang lebih banyak dan percakapan yang susah digambarkan dalam portrait, tapi lebih ke preferensi dan untuk display di toko karena kalau portrait tidak menghabiskan banyak space. Untuk Judul usahakan menggunakan font yang xxxi mudah dibaca, jangan yang berbelit dan dilihat dari jauh sudah terlihat judulnya apa. 3. Keunggulan buku ilustrasi daripada video? Begini, memang ada beberapa waktu buku itu masih dipakai oleh orang-orang, biasanya masih dipercaya untuk pencarian referensi. Orang akan mencari buku daripada media lainnya karena lebih percaya. Bahkan untuk membuat film, orang mencari referensi dari buku. 4. Gaya ilustrasi yang unggul untuk anak umur 7-12 tahun seperti apa? Gaya yang masih unggul hingga sekarang adalah gaya ilustrasi Disney kemudian chibi. Ilustrasi jangan terlalu realistis kalau untuk anak-anak. Buku PPKN kelas 3 SD sudah ada buku mengenai sejarah juga. ñ Apakah sebaiknya buku pahlawan ini menceritakan tentang prestasi saja? Jangan hanya prestasi, dari lahir, sejarah awal sampai pemikirannya, background- nya. Beberapa tambahan catatan dari Bu Retno seperti pentingnya ISBN bila ingin menerbitkan buku, karena ISBN berperan sebagai kredibilitas sebuah buku. Usia buku di toko buku setelah diterbitkan hanya kurang lebih 1-3 minggu saja karena sangat kompetitif, apabila penjualan dibawah 10 eksemplar maka buku segera dimasukkan ke gudang. xxxii LAMPIRAN C: Transkrip Wawancara Bu Endang Moerdopo ñ Mengenai buku Bu Endang tersebut berseri ya bu? Apakah sifatnya berkelanjutan? Buku Keumalahayati yang lama sempat dicetak ulang dengan konten yang sama namun hanya berbeda kover saja. Begini, ide saya awal saya ingin membuat trilogy, jadi yang pertama malahayati sebagai laksamana perempuan pertama di dunia yang diakui oleh dokumen Lanchester dari Inggris di abad ke 16. Di buku pertama dia sebagai perempuan yang maju kedepan, yang perang, dengan kekuatan keperwiraan dia, dia punya pasukan inong balee (pasukan janda). Di buku kedua rencananya karena dia sangat dipercaya sama sultan, sehingga ia dipercaya untuk mendidik cucunya sultan. Jadi dia selama menjadi laksamana, dia dititipi anak yang berumur 5 tahun ini yang nantinya menjadi Sultan Iskandar Muda. Jadi buku kedua berjudul „Miwa Laksamana‟ dimana Miwa adalah Bibi. Jadi perannya lebih kepada mendukung Sultan Iskandar namun dibalik layar, tetap sebagai sosok supervisor, sebagai fungsi empu. Jadi dia bisa sebagai laksamana yang berada didepan (tokoh utama) dan dia juga bisa sebagai pendidik. Yang terakhir adalah rencananya cerita yang bersangkutan Laksamana Keumalahayati yang ada di abad ke-21, yang menceritakan adanya sosok wanita yang dulu-dulu adalah salah satu dari pasukan inong balee. Kalau yang sekarang sedang tulis adalah scenario film Malahayati. Nantinya akan diproduksi oleh TVRI. Mereka tidak mau orang lain yang menulis skenario supaya soul nya dapat ketangkap sesuai dari bukunya. Sebenarnya agak repot karena waktunya. Kira-kira sudah jadi scene plot 5 dari 6, hanya sebagai xxxiii supporting adegan. Nanti tim produksi dari MNC. Jadi sebenarnya bukan serial, jadi dari dia sekolah sampai dia berkarir jadi hanya diceritakan sampai dia berhasil membunuh Cornelis de Houtman, jadi buku itu adalah karir dia sebagai laksamana. Kalau kamu mau bikin itu menjadi buku bergambar, Malahayati „kan ada 13 bab, jadi untuk anak-anak tidak akan dikasih seperti buku novel karena mereka tidak akan bisa baca, kalaupun dibikin bergambar, mereka tidak akan selesai. Jadi dibagi saja misalnya serial jadi 1 bab 1 buku cerita dengan tulisan cerita yang sedikit. Yang paling penting adalah bagaimana mendeliver cerita ini menjelaskan siapa Laksamana Malahayati sebagai tokoh perempuan yang hebat dari visual daripada hanya dijelaskan dalam kata-kata. Supaya buku tetap bisa jalan kalau ingin diterbitkan. Atau kalau ingin dijadikan 1 buku, ambil sisi cerita yang paling heroic. Kalau dari segi bisnis, coba buat paketan berseri isi 13 buku yang tipis- tipis saja. Saya ada referensi komik Laksamana Keumalahayati terbitan orang lain. Tetapi ceritanya tidak cukup kuat, berbeda dari cerita aslinya. Saran dari saya, tetap membuat buku bergambar saja, kalau buku komik jangan dengan nuansa warna yang gelap. Yang penting yang mana yang baik sebagai penyampaian pesannya, misalnya adegan Malahayati dengan anaknya yang sedang naik kapal, pemimpin itu apa, bagaimana, tapi disajikan dengan gambar. Saya akan supervised untuk ceritanya. xxxiv ñ Bagaimana kalau referensi baju Malahayati? Satu hal yang paling penting, Malahayati tidak berjilbab. Kalau misalnya ia muncul berjilbab, berarti Malahayati NKRI, mereka tidak ada syariat islam. Hanya berkerudung, bukan jilbab. Itupun dipakai hanya saat menghadap raja atau acara-acara penting, aslinya hanya baju aceh biasa hanya rambut dicepol, hiasan bunga dikepala, memakai sarung. pada jaman itu tidak ada yang menggunakan jilbab. Namun setelah NKRI karena semua diwajibkan memakai jilbab, akhirnya pakaian adatnya pun jilbab. Di abad itu tidak ada yang pakai jilbab, hanya kerudung, seperti di film Cut Nyak Dien, mereka tidak memakai jilbab hanya berkerudung, itupun ketika perang mereka tidak pakai kerudung lagi. Terus untuk supervised pakaian oke karena akan ada suatu ketika dia memakai baju Aceh lengkap. Jangan gambarkan Malahayati pakaiannya seperti ninja gayanya. Dia cantik sekali dan banyak perhiasan yang dipakainya. Tidak ada buku referensi, jadi untuk pakaian waktu itu saya menulisnya dari buku-buku snogrugronya tentang Aceh disitu menjelaskan tentang pakaian- pakaian di abad itu. Literatur Malahayati sangat sedikit hanya ada di perpustakaan Malaysia, Belanda, dan Inggris. Belanda itu ditulis oleh Frederick de Houtman, adik Cornelis de Houtman pada saat di penjara dia menulis buku juga tentang Malahayati, bukan secara tokohnya, jadi seperti curhat sekilas dicertitakan ada sosok ini karena kakaknya terbunuh oleh wanita ini. Tetapi buku ini terbit 2008 jadi waktu itu tidak ada referensi sama sekali sehingga saya hanya mengaitkan tahun dan pakaian yang dipakai pada saat itu, ditambah dengan saya berjumpa langsung dengan ibu ini di makam. Jadi saya tahu persis apa yang harus saya tulis xxxv dan apa yang dia pakai, jadi ada sedikit perjalanan spiritual. Sebenarnya saya tulis dibagian prolog buku, disitu saya bisa bertanggung jawab atas apa yang saya lihat dan itu yang saya tulis sebagai pakaian, suasana. ñ Kalau di aceh pahlawan yang paling terkenal siapa bu? Begini, karakteristik orang Aceh kurang menghargai pimpinan, raja, mereka melihat hal tersebut setara, sebenarnya itu karakteristik orang Sumatra secara umum. Untuk situs-situs sejarah tidak pernah dirawat, ketika gempa tsunami, situs sejarah sudah rusak dan sebelum tsunami juga sudah rusak. Baru setelah tsunami ketika ada intervensi dari asing masuk membantu, baru dikejar lagi situs-situs (diperbaiki). Makam Malahayati pertamakali saya kesana jelek sekali, walaupun sekarang bagus. Pertama kali pada tahun 2005 itu tangganya sudah rusak mungkin karena gempa, tetapi itu di bukit Krueng Raya, bukit Malahayati, jadi harusnya tidak kena gempa karena posisi diatas. Jadi tangga masih tangga semen yang rusak, tidak dirawat, yang mereka rawat tokoh-tokoh agama seperti Syahwala, ulama-ulama. Saya non muslim dan orang Jawa, mengarang buku ini tidak mudah, sehari sebelum launching malamnya dibilang “kenapa kok Malahayati datang ke kakak bukan kami yang orang Aceh?” justru saya padahal ingin mengangkat asset yang luar biasa dari tempat itu, saya tidak punya keinginan apa- apa hanya saya kagum seorang Cornelis Houtman orang Belanda VOC yang pertama kali datang ke Indonesia untuk belanja rempah-rempah ternyata terbunuh oleh perempuan ini. Keputusan untuk pergi ke Aceh sebenarnya hanya 3 hari, dan saya kerja disana di Badan Rehabilitasi dan Rekonstruksi Aceh Nias, saya tidak lama-lama karena saya tidak tahu orang Aceh bagaimana, yang saya tahu hanya xxxvi daerah Muslim, belum sempat browsing. Saat sampai sana saya coba mencari yang menarik dari Aceh, ternyata ada pembunuh Cornelis de Houtman itu. Pada awalnya saya browsing tentang makam Malahayati, tidak ada satu orang pun di Aceh yang tahu makam itu dimana, penduduk tidak tahu dan tidak ada tanda- tandanya juga. Jadi mereka tidak pernah menghargai adanya pahlawan, jadi baru- baru ini saja. Bahkan hingga saat ini beberapa orang masih menganggap hanya legenda, padahal sudah ada jelas Jokowi memberi gelar tersebut. Penghargaan kepahlawanan tersebut diterima bukan kepada keluarga Malahayati, tapi diterima oleh salah satu keluarga Sultan Aceh, dari pihak bangsawan, karena Malahayati anak tunggal, suami meninggal dan anak perempuannya pun diculik, bapaknya juga tidak pernah ke-trace keberadaannya lagi dan terjadi pada abad 16, seperti Cut Nyak Dien saja sudah tidak ke-trace. Sutami Road No. 36A, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia ABSTRACT This study examines the leadership of Admiral Malahayati as an Acehnese female figure who lived in the sixteenth century. The research question to be answered is how is the dimension of leadership that underlies the actions of Admiral Malahayati while serving as the Royal Aceh Navy commander. The research method is historical with the Collingwood approach. Thus, the analysis is not only focused on uncovering historical events that appear to the eye but also the dimensions of the motives and values contained in the actions of Admiral Malahayati. The results of the study indicate that Admiral Malahayati is one of the Acehnese female figures who has a strong, courageous and integrity representation of leadership values. Admiral Malahayati's leadership value is different from other Acehnese female figures because of Malahayati's position as an Admiral in the public sector. AdmiralMalahayai has a feminist dimension in its masculine leadership values as commander of the Royal Aceh Navy. The paradox between feminism and masculinity became an important dimension in his leadership in the InongBalee fleet, especially when facing polemics with the Netherlands and Britain. By 1669, the VOC was the richest private company the world had ever seen. This landmark study looks at perhaps the most important tool in the Company’ trading – its ships. In order to reconstruct the complete shipping activities of the VOC, the author created a unique database of the ships’ movements, including frigates and other, hitherto ignored, smaller vessels. Parthesius’s research into the routes and the types of ships in the service of the VOC proves that it was precisely the wide range of types and sizes of vessels that gave the Company the ability to sail – and continue its profitable trade – the year round. Furthermore, it appears that the VOC commanded at least twice the number of ships than earlier historians have ascertained. The Sultanate that Never Really Surrendered Marieke Bloembergen, kitlv, and Martijn Eickhoff, niod In the historical culture of the Netherlands at the start of the twenty-first century, there are remarkable differences and changes in people’s under- standing of former heroes of the Dutch colonial expansion in Asia. For example, Jan Pieterszoon Coen (1587-1626) is vehemently criticised because of his excessive use of violence, especially directed against the population of the Banda islands.1 In 2011 in Coen’s birthplace, Hoorn, the discussion got an extra impetus after a crane accidentally pushed the statue of Coen, dating from 1893, from its pedestal.2 After a much-contested restoration, the statue’s new plaque now informs the public that the figure is not ‘undis- puted’ because of the ‘violent trade policy’ of Coen.3 On the other hand, the brothers Cornelis (1565-1599) and Frederick de Houtman (1571-1627), famous for their voyage to Bantam in 1596, and often considered to represent the start of the Dutch colonisation of Indonesia, are scarcely mentioned in crit- ical post-colonial discussions. Like Coen, the De Houtman brothers made it into the Dutch news in 2011 after the ‘De Houtman-monument’ in their birthplace of Gouda was damaged, in this case by a truck. One of the gate pillars of the monument – dating from 18804 – was destroyed during a public event of culinary character, named ‘Gouda Culinair’. It is not only through the political approach, but also need the law approach. Through the law approach, Resink had showed the force proofs that the nation of Indonesia (firstly called by Nusantara) not all of its colonized by Dutch-Indies Government. As for being the writer purpose in this research are to be aware the arrival of Dutch to Nusantara, to be aware of Dutch political system to occupied in Nusantara, to be aware the background of understanding about 350 years Indonesia colonized by Dutch. Method that is used in this research was history and documentary. Data are obtainable through literature technique and documentation. The result from this research had showed that is not 350 years Indonesia colonized by Dutch, with proofs that are: mentioning of Indonesia's name, law of nations at Makassar in the past, kings and kingdoms that independent in Nusantara at 1850- 1910's. Resink calculation, In fact, Dutch only occupied all of Nusantara for 40 until 50 years. De Bry's map is an early re-issue of a rare map of Africa and the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, designed to illustrate the first Dutch expedition to Java undertaken by Cornelis de Houtman, 1595-1597. Houtman's route of the voyage is indicated. The pioneer voyage by the Dutch to Southeast Asia took place in the years 1595-97, under the leadership of Cornelis De Houtman. He established several commercial relations, e.g. with the great pepper port of Banten on the north west coast of Java, near which the Dutch colony of Batavia would soon be founded. This expedition gave Holland first-hand data about the Sunda Strait, the northern coast of Java, and the island of Bali. News of this voyage was related in several works. Most important was the Historie van Indien, published by Cornelis Claesz in 1598. The book was supposed to contain a new general map of Southeast Asia, but the map was suppressed. On June 22, 1596, a small Dutch fleet came to anchor in the bay of the city of Banten, on Java’s north coast 1. Placed under the command of Cornelis de Houtman and Gerrit van Beuningen, this privately-chartered commercial expedition comprised 4 vessels manned by some 249 crew members 2. Thanks to critical nautical information leaked out of the Portuguese Asian dominions by Jan Huygen van Linschoten – whose Itinerario was not yet printed 3, but nevertheless already circulating under manuscript form among Dutch cartographers at the time Houtman and Beuningen were busy completing the victualling of their ships –, the main pilot of this so-called “First Navigation” to the East Indies, Pieter Diercksz. Keyzer, easily found his way to the Cape of Good Hope, then on to Madagascar. After the untimely death of Keyzer 4, the younger brother of Cornelis de Houtman – Frederick, a soon-to-be famous linguist and astronomer – acted as the main pilot of the fleet and managed to cross the Indian Ocean almost straightway so as to reach the southern tip of Sumatra, then proceeded to the nearby west coast of Java. Hours only after their arrival on the shores of Banten, the Dutch – who could master neither Malay, nor Javanese, nor Arabic – were welcomed on behalf of the Regent of the city by “six Portuguese [traders] and their slaves”.

Initiall , Europeans were mere participants in this well-established trade net- work but eventuall colonized most of the region (Reid 1988, 2:270–281; Stark 2014). Although archaeologists have long recognized Banten as pla ing an impor- tant role in the region (guillot 1993; miksic 1989; ota 2006), their interpretations have largel been drawn from monumental architecture and major historical events (guillot et al. 1990; michrob 1982). the lack of s stematic archaeological data from the sultanate as well as the focus on Banten’s past as a prosperous independent state (most likel the result of local anti-Dutch sentiments) has led archaeologists to neglect or misinterpret the sultanate’s past during the period when the Dutch East India Compan (a.k.a.
