WOOF WOOF At the growl I'll have a plan for a tempo- rary banner type sign for our sign along Rowan and maybe a smaller one for the sign along Bail- lie. We may be able to boost the traffic at the Growl Detachment with a sign that would inform peo- ple that we are open to the public. So come prepared to bark, howl and bellow about it. And we will have an election event and maybe pick a dog of the year. The Rose Fund action is scheduled for Monday Septem- September 15 ber 2nd at the Walmart Supercenter, corner of 54 and Little Road. We should plan on setting up right at 1000, and break down at 1400. People with pickups or any vehicle that can carry our stuff should plan on meeting at the Detachment at 0900 to load up. Our next Rose Fund is on November 10th at the Rural in the King. Most people won't know that is the Marine Corps Birth- day, but they will know it is the day before Veterans Day, so I expect a big day. We need the money after paying for the kitch- en cleaning thing. Neff Pavilion WOOF WOOF

OFFICERS REPORTS (con’t) Pistol Team

The Detachment Pistol Team could be venturing into the limelight by taking part in a national pistol and rifle competition in Jackson- ville, Florida. We will be entering in the pistol competition only. Perhaps in the future we could take part in the rifle competition as well. Entrants will be from the MLC, American Le- gion, VFW, AMVETS, reserve units and active duty units. Specifically, each entity will have a qualification period in which all shooters will send down range 50 rounds towards a target set at 25 yards. There will be 5 categories and each team will field 5 shooters and an alternate. Whatever the team aggre- gate score is will determine their placement in the appropriate level bracket as determined by their qualifying score. Semper Fi Richard Browne Pistol Team Captain
