Rock Is Life
Rock Is Life http://www.rock-is-life.com/reviewsinbrief.htm Reviews In Brief (2007) (2006) (2005) (2004) 2007 STARZ Greatest Hits Live MVD Entertainment Group 2007 "The live collection of the 70’s rockers greatest hits seems to capture the band in fine form. The CD is compiled from at least 3 different performances and while I found the sound to be adequate to mediocre, the quality of their material does seem to shine through. While I wouldn’t put the band in my own personal Top 10 of 1970’s rockers, they are pretty good. I think it is a shame I wasn’t musically aware in the 70’s because I probably would have liked the band. They’ve got a lively and energetic sound tied to that particular era and it does keep the ears engaged, even during the first half of the disc where the quality of the recording isn’t even as good as some bootlegs I’ve listened to over the years. The audio quality is the biggest problem I had with the entire disc. I think if you are going to reissue this type of album, you really need to make the sound more Official Site presentable than what a typical bootlegger could accomplish. You want to check out tracks like “Detroit Girls”, “Any Way That You Want It”, and “Cherry Baby” in particular, but surprisingly at least to me, each song is pretty good. Search Amazon: If you like the 70’s rock era, you probably know of the band. You’ll definitely like this release. -

Abstract Our story takes place in a world deep beyond the veil that connects light and dark. As I bear witness to the times we are in I cannot help but feel that the world is immersed in darkness, a negative energy, heavy and all encompassing. Emerging from the darkness like a predator, the dark ones stalk us. Our collective psychosis in turn leads to the veil between our worlds to thin. These “Dark Ones” as it were, occupy the deepest depths of a world unimaginable, a void of despair and dread so powerful that light and goodness are rumors. The dark ones feed on this negative energy and fear that our world generates, they are drawn to it like moths to a flame. This dark world is a place where the beauty and light are replaced by pain and thorns. The dark ones are a result of our collective dread. The negative energies have spilled forth, opening a chasm between our world and theirs. This work represents a collection of portraits, visual musings of the creatures and their settings that dwell on the threshold of this nightmare world. -

J'endure mal tant que le Soleil luit - Louise Labé, Sonnet V Foreword to the 3rd edition Darkling One has taken different shapes over the past three years. I have begun to think of this collection as an evolutive piece, prone to Chaos and shifting – like its author, like its readers. Like stained glass windows, my greater projects have consumed me through and through, and shards of coloured script have fallen from my plume, down, like so many blades. Some have cut their way here, and others knifed in over time. Three editions in four years is sheer overkill – I’ll admit… though in my defence, I may claim it was sorely needed. First of all, I had to get different visuals as the rights to the former were no longer granted – and for this we owe the talent and vision of Kayleigh 3 Graham, who now graces this cover. Then came a few new poems, and the lyrics, bringing this fresher print to little over a hundred pages, which is more than I ever anticipated for a collage of elliptical works.
