Rock Is Life
Rock Is Life http://www.rock-is-life.com/reviewsinbrief.htm Reviews In Brief (2007) (2006) (2005) (2004) 2007 STARZ Greatest Hits Live MVD Entertainment Group 2007 "The live collection of the 70’s rockers greatest hits seems to capture the band in fine form. The CD is compiled from at least 3 different performances and while I found the sound to be adequate to mediocre, the quality of their material does seem to shine through. While I wouldn’t put the band in my own personal Top 10 of 1970’s rockers, they are pretty good. I think it is a shame I wasn’t musically aware in the 70’s because I probably would have liked the band. They’ve got a lively and energetic sound tied to that particular era and it does keep the ears engaged, even during the first half of the disc where the quality of the recording isn’t even as good as some bootlegs I’ve listened to over the years. The audio quality is the biggest problem I had with the entire disc. I think if you are going to reissue this type of album, you really need to make the sound more Official Site presentable than what a typical bootlegger could accomplish. You want to check out tracks like “Detroit Girls”, “Any Way That You Want It”, and “Cherry Baby” in particular, but surprisingly at least to me, each song is pretty good. Search Amazon: If you like the 70’s rock era, you probably know of the band. You’ll definitely like this release. -

Even if industrial bronchitis has long been known, new occupational hazards continue to emerge and enlarge the number of people exposed to risk. This review discusses the challenges related to the early detection of oCOPD, in the context of new exposures and of limited usage of methods for an efficient disease occupational screening. It underlines that a better translation into clinical practice of the new methods for lung function impairment measurements, imaging techniques, or the use of serum or exhaled breath inflammation biomarkers could add significant value in the early detection of oCOPD. Such an approach would increase the chance to Citation: Libu, C.; Otelea, M.R.; stop exposure at an earlier moment and to prevent or at least slow down the further deterioration of Arghir, I.A.; Rascu, A.; Antoniu, S.A.; the lung function as a result of exposure to occupational (inhaled) hazards. -

Santa Clara University School of Law Center for Global Law and Policy 2015 Tokyo Summer Program At Asia Center of Japan, June 8 – June 12, 2015 Introduction to Japanese Law Professor Yasuhei TANIGUCHI, LL.M. Berkeley 1963 & J.S.D.Cornell, 1964 Prof. Em. of Kyoto University and Of Counsel, Matsuo & Kosugi, Tokyo This course follows the Prof. Abe’s course of the same title and tries to approach the Japanese legal system from a slightly different perspective. Emphasis will be on general subjects such as historical developments, constitutional schemes, judiciary and legal professions, dispute resolution, etc. rather than on specific topics of practical interest, which are to be dealt with in other courses. The instructor was born in 1934. His long personal experiences will be infused in the course hopefully to make the course historically interesting. A. Historical and Comparative Basis of Japanese Law It is important to understand the present Japanese law from a historical perspective. Japan experienced a radical legal reform at least twice in its modern history, firstly during Meiji period starting in 1868 under an influence of the European Civil Law and secondly after the defeat in the Pacific War under an influence of the American Common Law. The third wave of reform has visited Japan in the first decade of this century as the justice system reforms dealt with in C below. (1) Tokugawa Law (1603-1868) 1. John H. Music for a Song: an Empirical Look at Uniform Song Pricing and Its Alternatives
Music for a Song: An Empirical Look at Uniform Song Pricing and its Alternatives Ben Shiller The Wharton School University of Pennsylvania Joel Waldfogel The Wharton School University of Pennsylvania and NBER Preliminary Draft – June 17, 2008 Abstract Economists have well-developed pricing theories that challenge the wisdom of the common practice of uniform song pricing. This paper explores the profit and welfare implications of various alternatives, including song-specific pricing, various forms of bundling, two-part tariffs, nonlinear pricing, and third-degree price discrimination, using survey-based data on nearly 500 students’ valuations of 50 popular songs in early January, 2008. We find that various alternatives – including simple schemes such as pure bundling and two-part tariffs – can raise both producer and consumer surplus. Revenue could be raised by nearly 10 percent relative to profit-maximizing uniform pricing and by over a fifth relative to current $0.99 uniform pricing. Moreover, revenue could be increased by a tenth while maintaining consumer surplus at the high level accompanying current $0.99 uniform song pricing. While person-specific uniform pricing can raise revenue by three quarters, none of the non-discriminatory schemes raise revenue’s share of surplus above 35 percent. Even with sophisticated pricing, much of the area under the demand curve for this product cannot be appropriated as revenue. We thank the Mack Center at Wharton for financial support. The prominence of the iTunes Music store, where essentially all songs sell for $0.99, has focused attention on uniform pricing. Economists have well-developed normative theories that raise questions, at least in theory, about the wisdom of uniform pricing. -

Abstract Our story takes place in a world deep beyond the veil that connects light and dark. As I bear witness to the times we are in I cannot help but feel that the world is immersed in darkness, a negative energy, heavy and all encompassing. Emerging from the darkness like a predator, the dark ones stalk us. Our collective psychosis in turn leads to the veil between our worlds to thin. These “Dark Ones” as it were, occupy the deepest depths of a world unimaginable, a void of despair and dread so powerful that light and goodness are rumors. The dark ones feed on this negative energy and fear that our world generates, they are drawn to it like moths to a flame. This dark world is a place where the beauty and light are replaced by pain and thorns. The dark ones are a result of our collective dread. The negative energies have spilled forth, opening a chasm between our world and theirs. This work represents a collection of portraits, visual musings of the creatures and their settings that dwell on the threshold of this nightmare world.
