Biographical / Historical

Bundi is a district in the state of Rajasthan in northwest India; during the era of British rule, Bundi was a princely state. The Maharao Raja Sir Raghubir Singh (1869-1927) took the throne in 1889 after the death of his adopted father, Maharao Raja Ram Singh.

Scope and Contents

One albumen print, with the mounting cut to reveal the printed title beneath the image. Portrait depicting one of the last members of the traditional Rajput royalty, taken by Kale, who was the state photographer of Bundi, Rajasthan.
