  • Apports De La Geophysique Pour La Determination De L'extension Des Aquiferes De La Region De Biskra
Journal Algérien des Régions Arides N° 07 - 2008 APPORTS DE LA GEOPHYSIQUE POUR LA DETERMINATION DE L’EXTENSION DES AQUIFERES DE LA REGION DE BISKRA. N.SEDRATI*, Nora BOUCHAHM*, Warda CHAIB*, Assia REZEG*, Rabea SLIMANI*, Lallahoum BENAOUDA * et Larbi DJABRI**. *Chercheurs CRSTRA. ABSTRACT THE CONRIBUTIONS OF THE GEOPHYSIC TO DETERMINE THE EXPANSION OF THE AQUIFERS IN THE REGION OF BISKRA. The present work is a contribution to the determination of the aquifers and their expansions in order to carry out a method of water management in the city of Biskra facing the water demand and the effects of climatic and anthropogenic changes (construction of weirs).

Maftah*** * Centre for Scientific and Technical Research on Arid Regions (CRSTRA). Algeria **Badji Mokhtar Annaba University. Algeria *** National Agency of Water Resources. Algeria E-mail [email protected] Abstract The Aquifer System of the Sahara shared by Algeria, Libya and Tunisia contains huge reserves of water, characterizing by a lower renewable resources. It consists of two aquifer levels, the Continental Intercalary and the Terminal Complex. The reserves are estimated at 30.109 m3 (SASS, 2003). The last thirty years have shown an increase in exploitation of these aquifers, with an annual throughput of 0.6 109 m3 in 1970 to a rate of 2.5 109 m3 in 2005, indicating overexploitation. The Biskra region belongs to this group of aquifers. It has in recent years, a large hydro-agricultural development with a growing population, resulting in a considerable increase of water demand. For the setting up of a monitoring system for exploitation of water resources in the Saharan zone, the ANRH services in collaboration with CRSTRA have established a monitoring network to monitor changes in groundwater piezometric level of Terminal Complex. This includes 23 piezometers located in different exploited aquifer system. The piezometric mapping shows a drawdown of about 20 m in lower Eocene in the localities of Tolga and Doucen.

ELABORATION OF OPERATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECTS FOR A SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF THE WATER RESOURCES SASS III OF IRRIGATION IN THE SASS BASIN OF THE NORTH WESTERN SAHARA AQUIFER SYSTEM July 2010 – June 2014 The North-Western Sahara Aquifer System (SASS) is a basin of over 1,000,000 km2 shared by three countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Libya) whose water reserves are substantial with an almost fossilized aspect. Previous studies on the SASS had focused on the characteristics and operation of the aquifer as well as the evolution of abstractions, but rarely on the valuation of the water. Phase III of the SASS project aims to restore this equilibrum by promoting the sustainable management of water resources which is the most limiting factor to any stable economic activity. This study related to socioeconomic aspects of irrigation represents one of the two main components of the SASS III project. It aims to enrich the achievements of the hydrogeological knowledge of water resources through socio-economic and environmental data. It analyzes the operation of farms and especially the actual behavior of the irrigators with particular emphasis on ability to adapt to the challenges that threaten the sustainability of the develpment. The analysis of surveys done on 3,000 farmers helped identify the main SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECTS constraints to water productivity, but also to quantify the scope of their economic impact and to make recommendations to enhance the value of the resource. In this context, vertical buildings and monuments play an important role in the perception of space and the universe; they have been used in different cultures and civilisations throughout human history, especially in spiritual and religious terms (Alihodzic and Zupančič, 2018). Islamic civilisation is no exception; certain elements have been used in Muslim religious architecture with various morphological appearances to establish a vertical relationship with God. The minaret is one of these elements. Given its significance and function, it is the most important component of the mosque’s architecture. It is a tower from which a muezzin or a crier calls the believers to pray five times a day. The minaret is considered as one of the unique features of the mosque by the embodiment of the mosque itself (Gottheil, 1910).
