A CITY FOR EVERYONE Norwich is one of the UK’s most exciting cities, Norwich city centre market in the evening. where old meets new, nature meets technology, and local and global cultures are united. Bigger than Cambridge but not as hectic as London, Norwich is home to people from all over the world. Here you will find a truly worldwide culinary experience as well as theatres, cinemas, museums and galleries. We host one of the UK’s largest open-air markets and, of course, we’re home to Norwich City Football Club. A CITY OF INTERESTS Norwich is England’s first UNESCO City of Literature – one of only 20 in the world. In May, we celebrate with 17 days of art, literature, dance, theatre and music. But every day there are live music events, outdoor pursuits, independent artist-led spaces and days out for all interests and activities. In 2019, The Sunday Times named Norwich one of the best places to live in the UK. We think this is because Norwich is truly a city for everyone.

UEA is at the forefront of issues and ideas that affect us all. – We’ve worked with the Red Cross to understand how water affects wars. – We can show the connection between carrying water and educational inequality. – Of all of the universities in the world, we’ve made the most substantial and sustained contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) across disciplines. – Our lab technicians have saved us 60,000 litres of water a year by pioneering a way to adapt condensers in our chemistry and pharmacy labs. – We have a silent fleet of underwater robots, slowly revealing the oceans’ secrets hundreds of metres below the surface. – We impact on a national level through influencing government and policymakers to safeguard children.
