Whether you are traveling from across the street or country, thank you for choosing to spend part of your weekend with our Christian community of believers. FATHER MATT’S CORNER - Sixth Sunday of Easter Dear Friends in Christ, In the gospel this Sunday there is a lot of talk about love. Love is not something suggested by God but it is commanded by God. Jesus showed that prime example as he loved the disciples so he instructed them to love one another. We can go through the day and see examples of how people do not love one another but we are called to love one another to be patient with each other. For the gospel also tells us that God is love, and it is that love between the father and the son and the Holy Spirit that we will celebrate in the feast of the Most Holy Trinity. Last week I spoke to the congregation about our eventually opening up but for right now we will still keep most precautions in place. As we receive more data we will relax certain procedures as other churches are doing the same. However we are going to be a little more pre-cautious because I think it is better to come out of this pandemic a little bit slower than moving too fast and then have to take back certain measures that we opened up. We will be having limited social events I sincerely think we will be so sooner rather than later but we still must be cautious and must be patient. As many of you know Fr. Kachy’s sister Gemma passed away in late March. Fr. Kachy left on March 27 to be with his family in Tanzania. Fr. Kachy’s desire is to return as soon as possible. He has to wait for government permission to let him in the country. This process may take a little while longer. Again your prayers and patience are appreciated Father will come back just as soon as he is able to get a visa and re-enter the United States. Until then we have Fr. Martin, Fr. Bernard and Fr. Ruse helping us out we should be ok for the short time. As we eagerly await for Fr. Kachy to come back to Our Lady of Hope. Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Matt THAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS OF THE PARISH Thank you, Lord for bringing my children into my life. Help me guide them and teach them through example to lead lives of wisdom and strong, loving faith. Please let them learn to serve you always in thought and deed. And remind me, Lord to always be there for my family as you are always there for me. Amen. ‘MOTHER’S DAY NOVENA’ This year we celebrate Mother’s Day on May 9, 2021. OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL The theme of the is: Do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) You and I are touched by the ministries supported by Our Catholic Appeal. Our Catholic Appeal allows us to see beyond that we have faith to see the beauty that God has given all of us, and that we nurture and magnify what we have received to God’s glory. This faith is the force in which we break ever convention and see the encounter with Jesus. The ministries supported by Our Catholic Appeal treat our wounds and guide us on the path of holiness seeking after the Heart of the Lord. Jesus teaches us the path of holiness seeking after the Heart of the Lord. Jesus teaches us by His example of healing and giving glory to God. Our Parish goal for Our Catholic Appeal For 2021 is $171,576. I ask you to take a moment to reflect OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL on the many blessings you have received from God and prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to support the good work of our diocese. We suggest that each family could consider giving $275. We know this will be a burden for some families but if everyone will give a little, we will be able to make our appeal, while others will be able to give a larger amount. Once we achieve our goal, the majority of the additional funds will be returned to our parish to support our own special needs. Please prayerfully consider and come prepared to make your sacrificial gift. For your convenience, all pledges can be paid in ten monthly installments. Donations as of April 30, 2021 Pledged: $136,206 Number of Families: 406 Please prayerfully consider making a sacrificial gift.
