Of course, that was the aim of his magisterial scholarly work, and while unquestionably impressive, his tome turned out to be by no means the last word on the topic. Indeed over the intervening quarter century, quite to the contrary, we witnessed a continuously increasing outpouring of specialized political science, historical, philosophical, psychological, and other disciplinary studies with clearly ―no school of leadership‖with a single unifying theory emerging.

  • West Side Story – Movie Information
WEST SIDE STORY – MOVIE INFORMATION This free screening will be held outdoors at the Arts and Cultural District, 10th and G. Avenue, Douglas, AZ, 85607. Please bring your own seating. “West Side Story is nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece.”- Bosley Crowther, New York Times Created by the musical dream team of Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Jerome Robbins and Stephen Sondheim, and starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, George Chakiris, and the electrifying Rita Moreno, this legendary 1961 film won ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Music Score, Best Supporting Actress (Rita Moreno), and Best Supporting Actor (George Chakiris), inspired countless generations of musical fanatics and brought Shakespeare’s classic tale of teenage romance to vibrant life … only here, instead of Verona, the setting is 1950s New York City, and as always, the course of true love never, ever runs smoothly. A jazzy, snazzy, high energy classic that almost leaps off the screen (when it’s not breaking your heart), West Side Story endures as one of the greatest musicals in Hollywood history. This screening is part of Loft Film Fest on the Road, made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts with support from Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment. The movies will travel across Southern Arizona in The Loft Solar Cinema, a cargo van outfitted with solar panels (donated by Technicians For Sustainability) to power a 20-foot inflatable screen and state-of- the-art mobile projection system. .

This year the festival will place the spotlight on the rich cinema of Romania, and to celebrate its milestone year, will present its first ever Legacy and Lifetime Achievement Awards to Oscar-winning actor George Chakiris and legendary Romanian actor Victor Rebengiuc. "It is a special privilege for a film festival to recognize those artists of South East European heritage whose legacies define cinema," says Vera Mijojlic, president/founder SEEfest. "We pay homage to two very different and uniquely talented artists, Romanian Victor Rebengiuc and Greek-American George Chakiris, both of whom created unforgettable on-screen characters and transformed the films in which they starred."
