E m e r g e n c y F o o d R e s o u r c e s Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties The men and women of the Michigan National Guard will begin providing aid to food banks in five communities across the state, including Ann Arbor, Comstock Park, Flint, Pontiac, and Royal Oak through the end of April. Approximately 10 Michigan National Guard members will serve at each site, directing traffic for the drive-through distribution sites and assisting with packing bags and handing to cars. Be sure to thank them for their service. Be sure to read through all these resources as some serve residents outside of the city or county where they are located. We have them listed by county and city, so that in those cases, you may visit the location most convenient for you. Meal and Food Delivery for Seniors Seniors in Michigan who need extra support during the current pandemic may now qualify for meal home delivery and pick-up services, delivery of non-perishable food items, and optional daily wellness-check calls through their local area agency on aging. Oakland Schools/Lighthouse If you need food during the coronavirus pandemic, Oakland Schools has pulled together some emergency food resources for Oakland County residents and are providing emergency food boxes. Food boxes are available every two weeks until further notice. You can place a food order request by calling Lighthouse at 248-920-6000 and press option 2, or by visiting their web site below. Food orders may be placed Monday through Friday between 10:00AM-3:00PM. Food boxes will be packed and labeled with your name for quick pick-up to limit exposure to others. There are 4 pick-up locations to choose from: Clarkston, Farmington Hills, Pontiac, and Southfield. RANH serves residents of Addison Township, Auburn Hills, Leonard, Oakland Township, Rochester, and Rochester Hills. You will be required to provide: valid MI Driver’s License or State ID (to prove residency), previous year’s tax return (if you file), and verifications of current income and household members (such as copies of birth certificates). They are giving set amounts of food based on family size to facilitate distribution and provide to everyone equally.
