The Cottage has appealing cut stone and red brick elevations with soldier coursing over windows in contrasting red and blue fired brickwork under a wired thatched roof. A 2 storey wing was added in recent years matching the original building and tasteful refurbishment carried out. A new gas boiler was installed in 2015. Internally the period character of the accommodation is highlighted by exposed ceiling timbers, ledged and braced doors, open fireplace in the Sitting Room and a cast fireplace in the main bedroom. The bathroom is particularly spacious and on the ground floor leading off the Breakfast Room is a versatile Garden Sitting Room with French doors opening onto the terrace and neat lawns. The unspoilt setting of the Cottage and its immediate scenic environs has a special quality encompassing a glorious open front aspect over meadows and also at the rear there are private views over wild flower meadows. Finds and features from prehistoric, Roman and medieval times abound in the area, including finds from very close to the site. The site itself has previously been undeveloped and any archaeological remains present may be expected to have been preserved.
